Hi,

I live in Canada and I can't wait the release of the game in North America. I read a lot of your comments and suggestions, especially for a sequel of EU.

I think about one aspect who could sound different: Cultural Development (Arts&Letters). The Culture was very important at this time, even to political use (prestige). For example, the prestige of Louis XIV was based on wars, yes, but large cultural support (musicians, writers, etc.) Versailles is the accomplishment of this cultural support.

One of the possible expenses, during the game, could be to hire, for example, famous composers (Monteverdi, Purcell, Handel, Vivaldi, Bach, Telemann, Haydn, Mozart, etc.)

The cultural development should have an impact on the 'fame' of a State and, consequently, on political relations with other countries.

What do you think of this concept?

I would hire Cervantes and Shakespeare to write for the glory of the turkish Fine Arts¡¡¡.

Ahem, I'd rather keep Dede-Efendi and Naili, thank you. I know that the eurocentric education system in Europe (and over here in the US) proclaims otherwise, but the Turks had quite a few literary/musical 'masters' during this era as well :) Just a friendly note...

How I would love to hear snippets of their famous concerts in the game at the appropriate time! :) But don´t forget Corelli!

Heh, as a side note.. Svea Rike 3 was designed by Greven with some input from me, and I coded it :)

And yes, Castles II was a great inspiration for SR3 :)

Well, just a thought here...

If Sweden then annex England before Shakespear is born.... Would he still be born ? Would he write in Swedish ? Would Romeo and Juliet be called 'Karl-Oskar and Kristina' instead ?? ;-)

Just had some thoughts on this.....

I think is a great idea !!

If your country is having an era of splendour , you could have 'as a prize' that musicians, writers, scientists, engineers ..etc appear in your capital.
Of course, if you spend your money in wars and there's no budget for the arts during longtime, maybe some of this artist would have died when you pay attention to them...
The arrival of this 'artists' could be acompanied with fragments of their operas,
novels, discoveries....

another idea: if you annex a province with a high level of culture , you must have more % of get some of this great men. (for instance: Tuscany, Milan, Parma, Bohemia, Bayern,Castille, Zeeland...)

* A major power should have the possibility of change its capital,if captured.
(i.e. In my game I easily capture Paris and Calais but I don't want to annex the rest of France)

Best regards from Spain.
