CTD while saving game. "Database mismatch"

I was playing as Catalonia, i made myself king of Aragon, Leon, Duke of Catalonia, Mallorca, Spanish Marche, etc etc, wiped half of muslims asses in Iberia in normal/normal. Decided to make an easy crusade in north africa to gain some piety, and when i decided to save due the numerous CTD i get, the game crashes while its saving. I try to reload it and i get a "Database Mismatch" error. Whatever option i click the game exits to desktop.

I dont use to save in multiple files due its size, so i lost more than 8 hours of gameplay.

*Sigh* Hope this report will prevent of happening again in 1.02. *Damn*

its ounds mostly like t´he save go corrupted because of the CTD while saving.

I'm not sure anything can be done about that just like that, as we need to know what caused the game to crash while saving.

If it happens a gain you try to reproduce it and please please please use more than one save for your own sake.

If you are patient enough to try to recover your game, AFAIK "Database Mismatch" are happening in case of duplicate ID.

Somewhere in your file, a character or a unit is probably having the same ID than another character or unit, which cause the crash.

This is a daunting task because there is so many characters, but there is a small chance that, if you find the duplicate ID, you *may* recover your save file.

If you can do that in less than 8 hours, you may not have to replay them. (OTOH, it's probably more fun replaying them ).

I believe this CTD was one of the many 1.01 issue that has been fixed in 1.02, so I am closing this thread.
