CTD when exiting a game

The game runs GREAT on my PC except for two little things.

One, the screen flashes black once every 5 minutes or so.

Two, when I am ending a play session, and choose "surrender" to return to the main menu, the game shows my results screen for a second, and then drops totally out to the desktop. It's not a big deal, but it does prevent me from ever seeing how I'm doing at sessions end.

Sys Specs:
Celeron 2.6 gig Processor
Win XP home (SP1)
80 gb hd
256 mb ram
Intel Extreme Graphics 64 mb (I know, not the best, but it works great)
(updated to all latest drivers)
Direct X 9c

EDIT: 1024x768 resolution, 16 bit, AVI folder renamed to AVI_BACK

Is this consistent, or does it only happen with some games?

Also, what version of EU2 are you using?

Both problems are consistent, and I am running version 1.08 w/ the latest beta, and the EGUFSM zip file.

Version is irelevant with this problem.
The blink is caused by something you have running in the back grouns, Maybe E-mail set to check for new messages every 5mins?

I see flashes like this in some games whenever MSN (Windows) Messenger brings a background message box up, including when someone on my contact list comes online. It should be easy to test whether this is the problem by closing your chat programs down before entering EU2.

Well I include messanger under the general E-mail banner. E-mail messanger, newsgroup, Auto update Music Match, ...

Okay, the last 2 times I have exited the scenario, it has NOT dropped to desktop, so I think that whatever that problem is, its no big deal.

As far as the flashing, I generally have nothing running in the background while playing games. I guess I will have to check and see if something is secretly running...

YOu may also want to run an ADware/Spyware check.

The exit problem may have been solved when you renamed the AVI folder, this will at least cut down the frequency.
