Usually when I play paradox games and the game crashes.. it just brings me back to the desktop. Well recently (with the newest beta) I've been getting a crash that hangs and then gives me a windows message saying that it encountered a problem.. unfortunately i wasn't running the debug option, and it is not reproducable... but more of a random occurance. sometimes i get the regular CTD, then i get this hang..the one that has the windows message...

My question is: Are they the same crash or am I experiencing different things...

I have XP, recently updated nvidia drivers and the april 1 beta...

anyways.. just wanting to check.. thanks

The one that's giving you the error message is the "VFC" that you've probably read about elsewhere in the beta forum. It's still a crash bug like any other, except that the reason behind the crash isn't as apparent and obviously is creating enough of a jolt to the system that it wants to report it as an error message. We are really desperately trying to track it down - a large part of why the debug option was made available to the public with the Apr 1 patch - but it is still happening on a periodic basis.

i see.. that is what I was wondering. I had gotten a few times before but never thought about the difference. Well, I have started using the debug option now so i'll submit my info as well...
