CTD on loading save game and on resigning

I have 1.06b and all the DLC, including Sword of Islam. I am experiencing frequent crashes to desktop, something that I never used to experience with the game before 1.06. Whenever I try to load a save game I get a CTD after about four or five days of playing time (in game terms, obviously), and I usually (but not always) get a CTD on resigning from a game. In the past I have played CK2 on a laptop, though when 1.06 came out I started playing on a desktop, both of which should be capable of running the game normally. I have tried transferring the save files to my laptop, but still get a CTD after four or five days.

I am using a personal mod, though this is mostly cosmetic, changing localisation, some history files and the culture conversion events file - I don't see anyway that this should crash a reloaded save but not a new game.

If it's any help, I'll just add that I realised that the version that I had on my laptop was 1.06 (not b), with all the DLC. It was still able to save and reload games. When I realised that it needed a further patch, I patched it to 1.06b and all of a sudden it was unable to save and load without crashing a few days into the save game.

I then totally uninstalled the game, reinstalled it cleanly, and applied the 1.06b patch. I did a test save game, and it loaded without a problem. I then reinstalled all the DLC, and it wasn't able to save/reload any more without crashing after a few days. I assume it may be something to do with the DLC, though, since I reinstalled all the DLC at once, I haven't narrowed it down to one yet.
