Placing buildings on a beach results in really atrocious cliffs forming in the middle of it due to the forced ground flattening around buildings. The same is true of placing any building on any kind of slope, really.

The only mod which managed to toggle the flattening, Building Anarchy, is abandoned and corrupts saves. And it only managed to do it for whole categories of buildings, not individual ones IIUC.

So it would be nice to get this ability in the vanilla game in the last updates.

(If you're curious, one of my current use cases is making a beach into a park, with some invisible pedestrian paths from the workshop, park assets that make sense on a beach, and various props. This way you get civilians walking on the beach without ruining the natural look, plus you get the revenue and park level-up, as well as the fireworks. But for that, the fire pits and other buildings have to stop ruining the beach to start with.)
