Just a quick question -

In the pre CS start for Vijayanagar (south Indian Hindu nation) used to have two uncored provinces - Goa (CoT) plus another. They used to 'cost' around 150-200 ADM which used to take about a couple of years to generate in given the starting king, advisor hiring (major nation with good income) but right now each province is around 200 odd ADM each!

Is this WAD? It's a pretty steep starting penalty! This is not a complaint about the changes to annex/conquer mechanics; just an issue with the starting position which the player cannot impact.

I think he means they went from 150-200 together to 200 each.

And yes, the coring cost increase is WAD. I don't know the exact number (does anyone have a spreadsheet of 1.11 provinces? I've lost mine), but it seems the costs have increased on an average of 40%.

My bad, I wasn't clear enough. The cost has risen by approx 2x to 2.5x in this case as the Provinces have really high development compared to base tax previously.

My primary issue is not with the changes - I guess that's been discussed in many other places quite a lot! The problem I see is that Vijayanagar falls below in ADM as it needs at least five years to get the ADM required to core these provinces. There are no forts nearby so you literally have to park your army on these two provinces for decades!

I think there need to be some changes here to account for CS; like for example French vassals got changed to high autonomy provinces.

yes i can imagine those nations having a harder start ( think of uzbek who has yet to core all of sibir). the high autonomy might be a good solution

Yes, I have noticed it myself.
Or if Paradox deems lack of cores necessary, maybe they could add 50% discount for provinces acquired before start of scenario.

Will add cores + higher autonomy.
VIJ does have an easier life in 1444 than is really warranted but lacking these cores has a bit too profound effect now.

And a Sibir (and other provinces without core in 1444)?

And, although I do not really expect answer, will you add cores to colonies (most of them get core about 25 years after colonization - in history database, see e.g. Manhattan, although with lowered development across the board it might not be a problem).

Will have a look at Sibir.
Colonial cores in later start dates have already been taken care of for the next patch :)

Thuringia will have a core on Thuringia in the next patch too yes, that was removed by mistake. They won't start with cores on the Saxon lands they had though, if you want that division start past the Altenburger Teilung in 1445 instead.

Actually, if anything, Vijayanagara could use a buff. Nine times out of ten I see them fall apart at the hands of rebels and the Bahmanis' within the first few decades, when, historically, they were nearing their ascending and nearing their zenith in power (1500's-1540's) and would break the Bahmanis'. It wasn't until the Deccan splinter sultanates combined their forces and inflicted the equivalent of a Manzikert on them in 1565 that Vijayanagara fell into decline, and even then it still managed to hold on for another seventy years or so.

Could Parma also get its core back in atleast the larger bug fix patch?

It's hard to get back what was never there in the first place ;) But Parma could probably get a starting core, yes :)
All of what I've stated in this thread is for the larger bugfix patch and not the hotfix.

I am not sure I get terminology right. 1.12.1 was hotfix (and if I recall correctly 1.11.1- 1.11.3 and even 1.11.4 were called hotfixes as well). Are we talking about 1.13 ?
