Crusades

Hi I’m new to CK2 but I’ve mainly played it using this mod. One question since I’m kind of a noob, I’m in 904 but does the chalcedonian high patriarch call crusades at all? If not could I just switch to the base game Christianity and install my bishop as Pope?

Crusades rely on a series of events, like the Rise of Islam, the Viking Age and the standard vanilla triggers. They may not happen at all depending on the map by that point of time.
