crusades against orthodox kingdoms

Im just wondering when did the catholics gain the ability to call crusades against orthodox kingdoms, and if they call a crusade against an orthodox kingdoms and it fails why should it tell ever orthodox leader that its a bad day if the catholics where attacking them.

Yes I have seen the Pope call a crusade against the Byzantines for Greece. I think they have been able to sense the LOR dlc

I saw the Pope Crusade against the Byzantines once too. Was quite surprised.

Then I checked and saw that the Basileus was Zoroastrian for some reason.

Was no longer surprised.
