Johan said he thinks Victoria is his masterpiece of programming.

Problem is, a lot of people disagree with that... :p

Well in terms of the complexity involved, I suppose you can say that it's some very good coding. However, the game as a whole just doesn't apply to me - one of the key reasons being too much complexity and micromanagement.

...but for some odd reason I've found myself trying to hold back bursts of laughter at 6 AM so as not to wake up the family when I play CK MP...

Dude... you still work, right? :p

Before vicky came out i was really exited. It was like.. cool i can continue after 1820 type thing. Emerging USA, bismark uniting germany, WW1! People here have put me off though. The idea of CK doesnt appeal so much but its reputation is much better. Hard to decide though when the difference of opinion is so strong. Some hate and some love it :) Anyway i just sold my boat for £2000 so im rich and can afford the risk :) Ive pre-ordered it now and cant wait. Youll start to see me on CK forum soon enough.

Characters existing at the beginning of scenario are historical characters (except few placeholders), but after that you are recreating history.

But how can you be sure to have a richard lionheart for example? So you pick their names or do they just have historical names?

You don't. Only the persons already in existance at game start are historical, the new ones created are fictional and get random names (based on their culture and such of course).

Sure :) But as people tend to get ill at the most inconvient of times, the pharmacies are also supposed to be open at the most incovenient times. That means sometimes I work *really* early and sometimes *really* late. Add to that the fact that I work in three week cycles, were every third week is a 31 hour week and the other are 42 hour weeks. That makes it possible to play at the most wierdest times, and I am also used to get up/stay up at not-so-normal hours. Ask Artemis (artemis667) for more information about working at odd hours :)

There aren't leaders as such, armies get lead by ingame characters like kings, marshals and such. Historical at the start, fictional after that.

There is a 3rd Crusade scenario though in which you can play as Lionheart as he is the historically correct starting person of that scenario.

There's also a 100 year war campaign scenario.

It's much cooler getting Erik of Söderhollern for Flanders conquering England than always seeing the same Richards and Williams fighting historically. Use your imagination! :p

Still navies would be out of place in CK, as the only nations that really used them were Genoa and Venice, NPCs.
