So we have had our first look at Orthodox bishops, but is there going to be an attempt to differentiate them from their Catholic brothers in terms of vestments? They all look the same at the moment, but I'm sure this is something that could be modded. For example, it appears that Ecumenical Patriarch Theodorus is wearing a mitre in the fashion of a catholic bishop.

This also brings up other headgear questions. At 2:25, we get a glimpse at the Pope. Above the coat of arms of the Holy See, we see a crown that is identical to the crowns of all other King level characters. Is this a placeholder for a papal tiara?

the game is still in alpha, so don't worry too much about graphics. As you can see, none of the woman portraits have been done yet

I do look forward to seeing how the women will look. And how Arabs, Africans, and Mongols will look, too. But the European men are looking good, so I'm it'll be worth the wait.

The crown over the Papal States COA denotes that he is a king (King of the Papal States if it were possible to secularize the realm--that would involve a Borgia mod ;)). But I do hope there are different ecclesiastical heraldric devices, like hats for bishops, red hats for cardinals (if there are cardinals, and there should be IMHO) and the papal crown for the successor of St. Peter.

I'm guessing Danevang is yet to make graphics for the female charaters considering they all look the same?
Also I noticed the start is 1337. Does this mean there is only particular start dates or can you start at any date EU3-style? Sorry if that has already been answered:p

I think they've said 1452 in some interview.

End date is 1453:

I might also add that in my opinion would be great to have some indumentary changes through the centuries just to emulate some fashion evolution and add the immersion. After all the game covers almost 5 centuries!

Very unlikely to be in vanilla release ... I can imagine the amount of work that would require from Danevang. But I am sure graphic mods will be out with add clothing and face types etc. :)

Heh, yeah that's a bit extensive for an initial release. I'd rather have the stuff that's in to look as good as possible, rather than to have a lot of quickly done styles. But perhaps later, that's definately a possibility. :)

the portraits look great and the hints at features too. Betrothals especially! and the purposed instability too, it would always be good to know more about how things will fall apart!
But if there are video or audio or other non-written developer dairies are going to be a common thing could they please come with transcripts?
as not everyone can understand everyone elses accent, what with the world being massive and diverse and stuff but reading is a thing you can atleast take slowly.
