Looking good... is Doomdark the most relaxed man in Sweden?

I'm thinking he looks like some kind of mid-tier government minister. Like an environment minister or an industry minister.

Anyway, I'm liking how this is turning out... When this was announced, I couldn't even imagine the complexity going in to the game! Can't wait until next year!

Maybe so. If only government ministers talked in Paradoxian terms: we are predicting a decrease in warexhaustion of 2.5 in the coming year, and since all our provinces now share our state religion AND culture, we can now fully benefit from our tax base. And thanks to a +2 stability, our upcoming breakthroughs in education, government technology, and infrastructure now have their MTTH decreased by a factor of 0.75... ;)

From what I have seen, I think Doomdark is a pretty cool guy. I hope these video DDs keep coming on a regular basis. I was going to recommend podcasts, but this is so much better.

Great new system it will be. However still my favourite feature is the new map. Did you just add some new provinces, or it is the original map?

The map has been expanded a bit mainly to the south and east. And of course Iceland is now fully visible at all times :D ...

I also wonder what each of the colour of those droplets represent.

The droplets are obviously placeholder graphics. :) Red means "of my dynasty", gold means it's me myself, and silver means it's my heir.

Thanks, that clears it up. :) I thought it would be in that direction.
It's a smart solution to quickly recognize characters in other contexts. It was something difficult to trace that in CK1.

Is it me, or the elder son of Kaiser Ludwig is named Ludwig himself (@ 0:56) ? And the heir of Ivan I of Bulgaria is named Prince Ivan (@ 2:09) ! And King Edward III of England's late father was the good old King Edward II (@ 3:32) !
And Basileus Andronikos (@ 4:04) has two daughters named Eirene and Eirene-Maria (double name ! )
Should I suppose that there will be famlily names?

Nice than a "queen consort" becomes a "queen mother" once his son inherit the title. Nice too the fact thet the speed control is no longer in the menu but on the main screen (it was a real pain you-know-where in CKI)

PS What does "court -1" means (@ 1:58) ?

Don't worry, most Swedes can't pronounce it either.

Must be the 08ers up there that have trouble, then. Sounds just the way I read it.

Even I could pronounce it correctly in my head before I heard it, and I'm a Finn.

According to the Wiki all those people ruled IRL, and most of the kids mentioned are listed as their kids. Andronikos I of Byzantium had a RL daughter named Eirene, Ivan Asen I of Bulgaria had a son named Ivan, and Edward II had a son named Edward III. So those three at least weren't named by whatever naming algorithm the devs have chosen. Eirene-Marie's name only implies there's something cool going on if the same algorithm generated her name and her sisters. Which leaves Ludwig. Ludwig did not rule IRL as Emperor, but he was Duke of Bavaria. His kids aren't mentioned in the English wiki except for his succesor Otto, tho.

So the evidence isn't very strong there's a cool dynastic algorithm going on.

So we have had our first look at Orthodox bishops, but is there going to be an attempt to differentiate them from their Catholic brothers in terms of vestments? They all look the same at the moment, but I'm sure this is something that could be modded. For example, it appears that Ecumenical Patriarch Theodorus is wearing a mitre in the fashion of a catholic bishop.

This also brings up other headgear questions. At 2:25, we get a glimpse at the Pope. Above the coat of arms of the Holy See, we see a crown that is identical to the crowns of all other King level characters. Is this a placeholder for a papal tiara?
