So paradox... How about the gates of hell opening spawning doomstacks of Orcs led by the Antichrist!
No, Paradox's usual Eurocentricism, not CK2 specificallyYeah, I wonder why a game called Crusader Kings 2 tends to focus on Europe a lot.
I don't get the bad reactions by the community. C'mon people, we're supposed to be the mature ones! If you're gonna cry history complain about the things that are actually important, like the fact that the Aztecs are somehow united, or the fact that they have horses! The "They suddenly have boats capable of trans-Atlantic travel!" aren't really part of the ahistory as much as a Deus Ex Machina, and considering the American Horse went extinct about 10.000 years before the Spanish conquistadors came to the new world in the 16th century this is a rather big issue, but I digress!
I admit, this DLC may just be fool's gold, but I don't see why people make such a fuss. Complaining about it being "ahistoric"... I can't claim it ain't making history cry uncle, 'cause it does, very much so too. But remember that many of you accepted the multitude of Empires added some patches ago without a single complain, and in my eyes this is just as off the scale as that one. Granted the plot-holes here makes swiss-cheese feel inadequate, the biggest being the "Why?" in the equation, but when has that stopped anyone? Remember that the ancient Romans had concrete-mix that still outlasts the one we have today. It's a minor DLC just for the lulz of it, don't judge it as anything more than that! Besides which they fix the "problem" with the western lands of Britain and Iberia being safe-ish from the mongol menace, which in itself is rather fun!
And before anyone point it out: Yes, I did complain loudly when the Empires were added (still does, frankly), but there's a huge difference between the two. New empires annihilates the importance of the Imperial title and the hierarchal-system of medieval European rulers as a whole, thus making it ahistoric by messing with actual history; This, on the other hand, is first of all so far up the walls you can almost call it a parody (and considering the amount of you that cry "Hoax" and "Late April 1st" on this one I think you'll agree). And secondly it is something you can turn off, and it doesn't directly mess with Europe. This makes it alternative history rather than ahistory, thus okay.
I know people are gonna point out my own several plotholes, thus I'll be here all week! Go nuts, people!

With this new direction I see a string of new DLC's:
Rise of the Eternal Darkness - All over Europe the dead are rising, armed with rusty weapons and a hunger for death. The skeletons of all your previous kings convene on your castle to complain about your lack of ambition.
Jurassic Castle - It took just one mad alchemist to bring the dinosaurs back to life. Send your heavy cavalry against a herd of tyrannosauriers.
The Return of the Dragons - They were never gone, just taking a nap on the north pole. Now the dragons sweep down on Europe to collect all your gold in abandoned caves. Your only chance is to quickly change into fiat money.
Rise of the Cybermen - Metal men from the future arrives to upgrade your peasants to cybermen. Let them, it will give your levies +120 attack strength!
The Return of the Daleks - Metal barrels with funny voices turn up to exterminate you. Your only chance is to tip them over.
The Rise of Atlantis - Suddenly the long lost continent of Atlantis rises from the sea. Unfortunately, all inhibitants are long since drowned. But it's an excellent duchy for that inbred son.
The Birds of Prey - On morning all birds turn against humankind and picks your eyes out. Can you manage to construct a scarecrow without sight?
The Master of Magic - Old tomes of wisdom are found in ancient ruins. Learn new spells to increse the size of your demesne, or turn those frogs into princes with high stewardship.
The Call of Cthulhu - Nightmares and mysterious strangers around the castle. Introducing the new stat Sanity.
The Climate Change - That new forge, was one forge too many. Now the ocean rises and the world is thrown into a tropical climate. Introduces the new holding type Hotel.
I hope they make no money from this garbage.
