There's also a potentially more sensitive side to fleshing Jews out to this kind of extent. They were treated quite badly by Christian and Muslim rulers at times, up to and including the occasional pogrom. I wonder how Paradox are going to handle this aspect of Jewish history in the medieval period? Will they leave well alone because these days persecution of Jews is an understandably touchy subject, or are we going to be able to play rulers who can borrow cash from Jews, until we're up to our ears in debt, before stirring up public hysteria against them and driving them out of our realms?
I agree, it is a really touchy subject. It needs to be handled with care, but if done right, it could add many interesting mechanics in interaction between non-Jews and Jews. Because historical Jewish influence on the world was much, much more than just pogroms.
