Can we have some screenshots of the new Indian portraits? The ones that we're leaked didn't show that much variation.

This please. Especially females, who aren't in the example screenshots in the store.

No insight on to the king malus for emperors? I understand that it was probably done to slow down the "land claimant" tactic, but in the end does it do more to discourage feudalism itself? I'd just like to hear the reasoning behind it.

Thanks!

- After a successful decadence revolt, the new ruler only gets weak unpressed claims on vassals who choose independence
- Increased chances that vassals will choose independence after successful decadence revolts

Roughly speaking, what are the odds of them going independent?

- Added updated flags for titles within the Arabian, Mali and Byzantine de jure empires

What flags? I'm not surprised for the Arabian and Mali, since there's plenty of placeholder flags there, it seems. But I can't think of any in Byzantium...

Hope I'm not late to the party again, but let's give it a try:

1. Are there any other (small scale) map changes to areas not mentioned in the changelog, especially around Germany and Anatolia? What about de-jure changes?
2. Are there any changes to the initial free stacks in the Persian area (f.e. Saffarids and Karen). Would you say the balance/difficulty in this area has changed, and if, how?
3. How does the Ghaznavid event work? Similar to Timur/Seljuk?
4. That may have been answered, but would you care to give us a list of the newly added cultures?
5. Optional question: are there any events/easter eggs for Greek characters that conquer Afghanistan/Indian?

Really excited about the ROI, you guys now how to keep a two year old game up-to-date. That's why you're my favorite ;)

Thanks!

I think it could be simply explained as "kings don't really like having people above them". It probably won't prevent you from making kings, but you probably shouldn't want to have like a dozen king vassals either.

I'm surprised it hasn't been asked yet but has the release date for RoI been set?

It has been asked and the response was "soon".

Whoops that was not supposed to be there. It was something we tested but was not final and removed and it happened to slink past into the change-log. Removing it now.

But it did happen in real life that a liege build a castle in its vassals land to keep them in check.

Did you change this as the AI may have done it and to prevent the "several many lieges' holdings in one county" problem ?
If so, better introduce a "all holdings in a county by one foreign liege CB".

Vassals don't have employers, it only applies to courtiers.

So i can't convert courtiers of another vassal anymore ?
Makes sense regarding the AI and sending their children to foreign courts now.

So if want to convert the child of one of my vassals i usually educated them myself or gave them to one of my vassals/courtiers.
How would that work now ? Can i only culture convert children if they are my direct vassal lords and not their kids anymore ?

Yeah, but that's silly. They're not sovereign kings (who refuse any and all requests for vassal inaction), they're people who you -- as emperor -- gave the power to oversee dukes. They owe feudal obligations to you. Why don't dukes have a malus against kings, then? It's silly.

- Friends and rivals can now be added and removed with add_friend, add_rival, remove_friend and remove_rival.
- is_friend and is_rival now check correctly against rival/friend rather than high/low opinion.

Does this affect num_of_rivals and any_rival tags as well?

Much land,
Such prestige,
Wow King of East Francia,

No but it is 1000 prestige, a realm size of 220 and hold the title of Germany and another king title.

I must admit that I like the added decision to form the HRE. Though I guess it can be modded. For instance for the historic HRE Italy was important. If one takes a more sandbox approach, then maybe all Carolingian successor states could be given a similar decision. Though that probably more modding territory; and I'm very happy with this decision in vanilla. :)

The mechanics has been slightly changed so you can only reach one of the oceans at any given time. To keep things simple you can only build trade posts in the ocean you as patrician have your capital in. So a patrician in Venice for instance won't be able to build in India. But if he conquers ground and moves his capital there he would be able to build trade ports in the Indian ocean.

So if you move your capital, you can build in the new area, not in the old one, but it doesn't affect your previously built tradeposts? Are they still able to be upgraded, claimed, etc?

- Doubled the Prestige that newborn characters get from their dynasty at birth

Will be broken for republics, already very easy to have a powerful Dynasty become hereditary rulers of a republic, if newborns gain double the dynastic prestige this will quickly result in children with 2k+ prestige on birth.

EDIT: I also strongly dislike the culture/religion from education change. I see no need to change it, and the manner in which it is explained seems overly complicated for little reason for something that was working perfectly fine.
