I'm late with this help but you could have had him excommunicated by the patriarch for 100 piety who would have said yes as he's your vassal. This will save tyranny in future.

Also if he's excommunicated, you save tyranny on execution as well. Compared to castration, this has the advantadge of not riskiong getting the cruel trait.

But kinslayer can be a bastard if you like to land kin.

::furiously takes notes::

All good things to know for the future. Feel like a bit of a twit for not excommunicating him first though. I think I even pondered doing it at one point but backed off for some reason or another.

Depends if they have any other duchy tier titles. If they don't, then subjugating them and usurping their duchy should make you the liege of all their lower tier vassals. If they do have other duchy tier titles, you'll likely only get the de jure vassals of their primary duchy (after you usurp it).

He only had the one, glorious reformed Germanics will soon flood Europe

I thought that the pope would have a large opinion bonus of you (+100) if he received a vote from a cardinal that is from your realm, but I don't appear to see this bonus. Source: ckiiwiki.com. Is that not accurate?

I think this is one of the times when it does stay as that. I know Tanistry doesn't stay if you culture convert to non-Celtic, but full cognatic I'm not so sure about. If your game isn't Ironman, you should try it out for yourself. Make sure to save before you do so!

Just a quick question.
My neighbour in Ireland (a county) got an adventure event. The adventure won because he came with 1,8k troops while my neighbour had only 450 troops.
I thought, OK, I 'll wait until his event troop depleted then I will take that county.
Now 50 years later, the adventurer is dead already, and his son is now the chief there (count) and the event troop is still there.
Will the event troop always stay ? or they will be gone someday ? and when ?

I may be wrong, but I think the event troops will stay forever (or until they die in battle).

They died, some of them. The chief sent them to war somewhere, and I saw the amount was decreasing (I was so happy). But then (may be it was not wiped out) they came back and increased again to 1.8k

How calculated vassals levy?

example from game:

1)City vassal
"Mayor Eardwulf could provide at most 20 Troops
Of this you are able rise 11.0% (3) due to:
Opinion: 17%
Laws$: -35%
Mayor Eardwulf owns 140 Troops in total"

2)Castle vassal 1
"Earl Elle could provide at most 286 Troops
Of this you are able rise 14.4% (42) due to:
Opinion: 18%
Laws$: -20%
Earl Elle owns 311 Troops in total"

3)Castle vassal 2
"Earl Sigered could provide at most 185 Troops
Of this you are able rise 0.0% (0) due to:
Opinion: 0.0%
Laws$: -20%
Earl Elle owns 653 Troops in total"

4)Temple vassal
"Bishop Ethelwold could provide at most 30 Troops
Of this you are able rise 0.0% (0) due to:
Bishop Ethelwold of Waltham being loyal to Ethelwold of Waltham: +0.0%
Laws$: -20%
Bishop Ethelwold owns 311 Troops in total"

How to get army from catholic vassals if they provide only 10% of their total troops (with max opinion)? Tribal vassals rise all their troops and they can win wars for you, but how to play with catholics vassals? Are they useless?

What decides whether the child gets Diplomacy traits (like Grey Eminence) or Intrigue traits (like Illusive Shadow)?

I really prefer Intrigue traits btw. What do you think is the most important Attribute?

Is this the got mod? If so it's 50/50 and I prefer grey eminence for the position boost from diplomacy, besides can't be using intrigue to advance your position that'd make you no better than a frey.

Yes this is the GoT mod. Is the main game any different?

In any case, since I spend 50% of the time playing as Tywin Lannister (Quick, Ambitious, Diligent, Patient, Ruthless, Cynical) I feel that if I do not assassinate at least one person per year, I just haven't done my homework.

Why Revoke anything when you can just Assassinate and humbly attend the victim's funeral to offer your condolences? ;P In fact, it would be mercy since much fewer of the common folk (and potentially, your military leaders) die this way. You kill a few people instead of many thousands.

In the base game people get the trait of the person educating then when they turn 16 with a random chance (9% I think) of a random one. So your grandson was being educated by charlemagne into a great warrior prince, tough now he's got the learning skill.

I prefer the got mod way of doing that and a lot of other things currently in the middle of a tully game pre Targs trying to get it all under the banner of the trout.

In my current game, I hold the Kingdom of Astarius and the Kingdom of Navarra. I didn't want the titles to split upon sucession, so I changed to Promogentiture (first-born inherits all titles). But my second son is still listed as the heir to Navarra, while the firstborn has all other titles. Can anyone explain why this is so? Also, I cannot destroy the Kingdom of Navarra title - it says (X) sucession is NOT gavelkind - but that statement is true and I still cannot destroy the title.

Each kingdom (and empire) title has separate succession laws. You need to change both Asturias and Navarre to primo to have your first born son inherit both. Because Navarre is still gavelkind, you can't destroy it.

The way you change succession laws in secondary titles is go to the laws menu, then click on the coat of arms for the kingdom you want to change, and then hit the buttons as normal. This is also how you get to secondary titles to change crown laws, which are also separate for each king+ title.

That worked! I never noticed those coats of arms on the laws screen and didn't realize they were clickable. It makes sense really -each kingdom has separate laws. Could lead to some interesting problems to deal with. Thanks, I managed to avert a sucession crisis for a while anyway.
