I'm like 98% sure I used to get an event where my rulers would be walking around somewhere and they'd stumble across an unwashed urchin and there'd be an option to take the kid home. Am I tripping balls? Has anyone seen an event of that nature somewhere in the event files? It couldn't have been a mod since I don't use any. Well, it MIGHT have been. I used equality and balance for a while way back but I don't think it added any orphan urchins.

Just a quick question.
I was King of Arabia and my father conquered Abvyssinia and Nubia but didn't create the kingdom. All in 1 kingdom of Arabia.
I am dead relative young, and my oldest son (a genius) was still 11 year. I thought, ok, lets get through this 5 year.
Then ofcourse there are some fraction who wanted to be independent, all are in the African side of my kingdom.
Having tried to brib some of them (to like me, and leaving the fraction) at the end 4 duchies (emirates) demand independent, and as I don't want to waste some troop which will make me vunerable against other fraction, I let them go.

After I became 16 years, I get weak claims of all those land which were belong to me before. I took two or three counties (sheikdom) then I quit playing (and have a life).
The next morning I play again, I saw that I have strong claim for all those lands. Is it a bug ?
The day before, I took 2 or 3 counties by conquest and cost me 50 piety each. With strong claim it will not cost me 50 piety.

Hi,

I'm playing a fraticelli kingdom (now empire)
Long story short, i claimed rome, restored the fraticelli papacy, the new appointed pope launched an immediate crusade on catholic lombardy.
I won the crusade and created the HRE.

BUT ...
I'm still an heresy, which is not the problem, but i have the papal succession system with cardinal and it doesn't seem to work properly.
When my fraticelli pope died, he was suceeded by some random dude and not by any of the Preferatus. Am i missing something on the succession mechanics of the papacy?

Report it as a bug on the bug report forum and upload the save game to some free filehosting site and post the link there. It should work totally the same as catholic papacy so if it doesn't its a bug.

Is education the children different in Muslim countries ?
When I was playing as Catholic Count/Duke/King, when children became 6 years I was asked about their education. I then put someone (or myself) to educate the child (boys or girls).
Now I play as a muslim ruler (Sheik/Emir/Sultan), seems like girls automatically educated by someone. And sometimes I get a girl as my ward without being asked.
Is it because I am a muslim ruler ? or this is new ?

Muslims don't care about girls because they're locked into agnatic succession, so girls automatically get assigned mentors.

I reloaded the game and it works properly now. It's not the first time that I noticed a bug and it worked fine on reload though...
I can now try to elect a fraticelli black bishop! :p

Matrilineal Marriage Questions.

If I matrilineal marry away one of my 7 daughters to a gifted vassal/courtier, does that vassal/courtier become part of my dynasty, or just the children of the union?

If my chieftain dies with no sons or grandsons from that matrilineal marriage, do I play as the son in-law, the daughter, or is it game over?

And any other advice on how to keep playing when my chief seems to only sire daughters?

Edit

Oh, and is there a way to expand the list of potential brides to include every potential bride? When I start a Charlegmane era game with a Germanic Pagan, for some reason the potential bride list is nothing but priestesses and I have to sort through every one of my neighbors courts to see what they have in the way of unwed courtiers and commoners.

1) Marriage does not change the dynasty of anyone, ever. Full stop. Your sons' wives didn't change dynasty, did they? Your daughters won't either, nor will their husbands.
2) You never play as an non-dynast. Again, this is not changed by anything. In-laws are only playable if they are of your dynasty and then can only become your proper heir under seniority (or in some special cases, possibly elective). Whether you can play as your daughter depends on whether your succession laws allow women.
3) Matri-marry for all. Change your succession law if necessary. Hope for the best.

4) Just use character search for single people instead of the marriage tool.

Okay that clears up issues about the dynasty and playing the daughter but I'm still a little confused about the next step in play so... Hypothetically, a Norse chieftain under Agnatic Gavelkind succession laws only has daughters. He does as you suggest and arranges matrilineal marriages for all of them. He ends up with one or more male grandchildren before he tragically takes an axe to the face.

Does the game identify those grand children as the successor or successors? Does the game split the titles up among all the children Gavelkind style or does the inheritance only track through the children of the eldest daughter?

And thanks, I didn't even know there was a character search tool... now it is the first thing I will search for when I start my next game.

Question: My liege is the HRE with Autonomous Vassals. I am Duke of Normandy and West Francia has Medium Crown Authority. I have a claim on a county in the HRE (somewhere in Bavaria). But it says I cannot declare war, due to crown laws. Is that because although I am not de facto part of West Francia, I am de jure? So does that mean I am affected by the laws of West Francia? This seems very strange to me....

I have a quick claim question. My wife is unlanded on her own merits, but has at present 2 strong claims (can be inherited by successor) - 1 each on the duchy of Poitou and Aquitaine. When she dies, will the claims pass down to all her kids or just a couple of them? Furthermore will they be weak claims or not? My aim is to gain control of both duchies.

I'm using Ultimogeniture succession, and have 4 children. 1 daughter (first born), then 3 sons.
