I'd suggest before you buy sunset invasion, play a regular game until you have to deal with the mongol hordes. If you find dealing with them fun, and want more of it, buy sunset invasion. If not, you'll manage without it.

It's one of the more controversial DLCs.

Well, I checked, and yes, he did attack me. I reloaded and now I wonder if he'll attack me if he's bethroded to my close family.

Did he have no where else to go? I've routinely delayed attacks by Muslim neighbors for decades with my chancellor, though they usually had plenty of interesting territory to fight over between themselves. Betrothal will only stop him if it's his close family as well... of course, that assumes he's already your religion?

Playing Jewish, I noticed my vassals would not proselytize their counties unless they have the zealous trait. Is this WAD or introduced in a recent patch? I remember several patches ago while playing catholics and muslim, vassals would always try to convert their counties, or at least I got the success notification frequent enough to have this illusion..

This is a good question. I too seemed to notice less proselytizing by AI lords lately, though I wasn't sure if this was just my particular luck. It was not in any patch notes I saw.

Maybe giving them baronies instead of counties is better idea? They won't be as strong and still have lands.

I tend to not land them but cities also work -- allows them to stay married and have children (back-up heirs?), and keeps them from declaring host wars or causing any other problems really. Also keeps them close at hand in case of a faction revolt on their behalf -- imprison/execute or assassinate and the war is over!

Sometimes i wonder if state attributes do anything at all now. It was once the case.
Yes, all other state attributes definitely still have effects. State diplomacy gives monthly prestige and opinion bonus with non-courtiers, state learning gives monthly piety, state stewardship affects demesne income, state intrigue determines success chance of imprisonments and assassinations (and maybe other things like plot power/plot discovery chance, I'm not sure, intrigue works somewhat obscurely).
But state martial is a mystery, every martial-related mechanic I know uses personal martial rather than state.

Yep, use your cultural retinue (the horse archer + light cavalry you're talking about). If you're using a commander of the right culture group (Altaic), you can use the "retreat and ambush" tactic, which is very, very good.

Hi guys. I have big problem with multiplayer. I tried to play with two friends (everyone have this same version of game, this same checksum, steam copies of game and this same dlc - The Old Gods). But after some days of game there is an error:

"Out of sync in game" or smth like that (I dont know how it is in English, but I know that it is problem with synchronization). We had same problem with EU3, but then we deleted file "Cache" and that was enough. In CK2 there is no files like that. Can you help us?

Hi guys. I have big problem with multiplayer. I tried to play with two friends (everyone have this same version of game, this same checksum, steam copies of game and this same dlc - The Old Gods).

Just so you know, you don't need the same DLC -- the host's DLC activates for everyone for the duration of the game.

But after some days of game there is an error:

"Out of sync in game" or smth like that (I dont know how it is in English, but I know that it is problem with synchronization). We had same problem with EU3, but then we deleted file "Cache" and that was enough. In CK2 there is no files like that. Can you help us?

This is a common problem with CK2 multiplayer. Try running at slower speeds for a while. That sometimes helps. If you're getting them even on speed 1, it might be a network issue between you and your friends, or it might just be poor luck combined with the temperamental nature of CK2 multiplayer.

I just started as the Hanseatic League. The HRE has plenty of vassal Italian Republics (Tuscany, Verona, Ancona).

I have discovered that the "Seize Trade Post" CB is not available when both republics are in the same realm.
I'm not quite sure since I'm the Prince Mayor, but it seems that you can't plot either.

Is there any way to seize a trade post from a rival republic within the realm ?

What Crown Authority does the HRE have?

What Crown Authority does the HRE have?
Low CA, so it should be possible. I did not mention it before, but the same is true for seizing cities or counties.

Seize trade post : can't against HRE republics, can against independant republics
Seize cities : can't against HRE vassals, can against independant rulers

I would check in the 00_cb_types.txt if I were at home, but maybe it is because you can only DoW independant ruler/republics ? Maybe, as a republic, you can't expand within your liege's realm ? Anyone have any experience to confirm (or not) this ?

PS: I know it looks a lot like a CA issue, but I'm 100% sure the CA is low. At one point, it was autonomous vassals.

Is there any way to use the console to remove the "Recently Conquered" modifier from holdings? I can do it via save file editing but would rather not have to exit the game to do so.

I do not have any problem with the penalty itself except:

1. It lasts waaaaaay too long.
2. It gets applied to holdings in provinces that were never besieged or even approached by an enemy army.

Thanks!

Will every single member of my dynasy have "Weak claim" on my main title? Is that normal or I am doing everything wrong? It's a bit harsh to have -20 opinion with every member of your dynasty because they are claimants.

Not your dynasty, only your children. The 3 first in line are called claimants and will get a strong claim. Your other children get a weak one.

A few questions regarding Seljuk. I murdered Seljuk after he got 2 kingdoms. His only young son inherited the throne. I noticed his event troop is still around, about 60k!
Will the event troop disband if I murdered his only son?
Can his son declare any wars as a minor? Or does he have to wait till he turns 16? If he can't start wars until he turns of age, I guess I should wait.
If I declare holy war on his Muslim neighbor, is it possible for him to join them on the defensive end?

Hi, quick question:

¿How do you manage your internal borders? I see that there are some plots that let you revoke some titles without tyranny, how do you trigger this?

Or should I just take the Tyranny hit?

Hi, quick question:

Or should I just take the Tyranny hit?

You can generally only plot to revoke a title if the title in question is part of your de jure demesne but not owned by you.

And sometimes it is worth it to wait until your character is old a near to death, then take a whole bunch of tyranny actions. The character will hopefully then die shortly after and your heir takes over with no tyranny.
