I'm sorry, many people that stop here have just started the game and usually simply don't know details like those.

It's probably a bug, then. Actually, while it has never happened to me, I've heard about a similar bug not long ago. You have already tried reloading, haven't you?
Not sure if I actually reloaded my game after it occured this time. Will try. Thank you for your reply and the soft confirmation of this being a bug.

I inherited East Francia, all all lands flipped to Francia by name. Any reason why? The titles still show, but just annoying as hell.
I don't know why East Francia became the main title, but you can easily change it in the law screen.

Are you sure you didn't form The Francia Empire by mistake?

I do not understand why the world is hostile to me. It doesn't say anything when I pull my mouse over those icons. What is happening and is it a bug?

You usually see this when there is a rebelling vassal that is either yours (and so they are at war with him) or you are attacking a rebelling vassal. Echoing what someone said above: If that's not the case, I know there have been bugs that cause similar things. Most people found them to be resolved by saving/exiting/reloading. Worth a shot, though I suspect you have already tried that after the last guy's advice

I started in 1204 and the Byzantines have retaken Constantinople, yet the Ec. Patriarch is not in control of Constantinople according to the religion screen. The province is Orthodox. Bug or feature?

The Patriarch is a title unto itself and can exist without holding that bishopric, so that's not a problem -- I would guess feature. Probably because this guy never returned to Constantinople after the crusaders sacked it.

Could any kind soul tell me some youtubers or let`s plays by which I can learn to play CK2 (EUIV player)? Thanks in advance!

Arumba is pretty skillful and tends to like to consider and discuss the mechanics and such behind what is going on. It wouldn't be strictly tutorial but more "learn by watching." His viewers also tend to be vigilant in correcting/adding to any commentary he makes :D. If that sort of approach appeals to you, he has a number of series for CK2 (though lately he has been on an EU4/V2 kick). Since external links are discouraged here, Youtube handle is arumba07

Matthas can be pretty entertaining and when he started CK2, he pretty much fumbled around nonstop. Learn by mistakes? He also plays with Arumba and Northernlion (and Quill) sometimes. He made a CK2: The Basics video about a year ago. A little out of date, but it might help you. Handle is MathasGames.

Quick Question:

Can a guy in prison (in Franconia) + Chaste have a son with his wife (living in some county of Norway)?
He is of my dinasty and both of us dont have a lover (at least what the relationship window said)

Fishy...

Is it okay for me to ask for advice in this thread? I figured it was more for general questions about the game mechanics, rather than advice on the game itself, but I didn't really want to start a new thread just for this.

So I decided to try and play as the independent Jews in Africa (Axum I believe?). Things were going well and I was slowly, but surely expanding by conquering the neighbouring Shia and Miaphysite kingdoms. Then the Fatimids came and conquered absolutely everyone in just a couple of years.
As of now, I am the direct vassal of the Fatimid Caliph, and the ruler of a single county by the coast. I was thinking of trying to war against some of the other vassals, but the level of crown authority will not allow vassals to fight one another. I could probably get almost 8000 troops if I hired both available mercenary companies, but I very much doubt that's enough to get independent and there's no one else to fight either. I'm also unable to make any alliances due to religious differences.

Do I have any chance continuing playing as a Jew, or should I just convert to Shia and try to marry my way up from there?

Hi all, I'd like to ask, Is there any difference when sieging and assault with different types of units? I mean for example, do archers siege a castle more quickly than cavalry or does heavy infantry assault better than light infantry?
Thanks

Archers are better than any other unit if assaulting a castle. In a siege only a number 1 more than the enemy is needed the type of troops are immaterial.

You can probably eat up the Rassids, but to be honest odds are the Caliph will just revoke your ass out.

If you really want to continue the game you can go about it in 2 ways:

1) Suck it up and endure until the Fatimids get a big rebellion, then declare independence and eat your neighbors.
2) Convert to Islam (keeping a branch of jewish family members in court) and plot your way into some more power. Then, when you are strong enough, convert back to jewish.

What is a reliable way to convert to Zoroastrism? I have been trying to educate kids with zoroastrian wards and none of 10 kids changed their religion. What do I do? I want to turn zoroastrian before they are extinct.

Were those Zoroastrians landed? Since an update not too long ago, wards can't change culture or convert if their guardians aren't landed. You will be notified in the Diplomacy screen if conversion is possible, for example "xy might become a Zoroastrian faithful!"

For completeness: They need not be landed if they are themselves in a other-religion court. (as an example: you can have your Zoroastrian Duke's Zoroastrian wife educate your kid)
