A question to modding republics. I want to found the hansa (trade republic) in the earliest starting date of the old gods dlc.
I tried the "founder of republic" mod, but I don't want to found the Republic of Mecklenburg.
I'm Duke of Mecklenburg and have the capital of the hansa, Lübeck, and even own the city in it directly. Can (I as) my son found it when I give him the city as first landed title?
Is there maybe the possibility of modding some decision like founding the Holy Roman Empire (under all that decision/plot stuff)?
But in what file? I only found the restoration of the Roman Empire and have no idea what to to with that.
So is there any way how I or at least my son can found the hansa?

The Hansa is formed by event around 1200. It isn't formable normally.

OK, so here's a question:

In my Ireland game I currently have Ireland and Scotland on Primo and Gavelkind respectively, with both having Mid CA. While both are going to the same person (the older son died of stress) I'm trying to figure out which is the better succession law to take. In Ireland Elective would guarantee succession as I have both duchies, but Scotland would be much more difficult to deal with as three duchies are owned by Scots.

As well as that, does anyone have recommendations on how to encourage factions to fire? I'm asking in case I'd need to use it.

If I convert to Cathar, set it so that Female and Male inheritance is the same, then convert back to Catholic, will that law stick?

I've got a small problem with my vassals attacking each other. This larger vassal has in his possesion kingdom of egypt, abyssinia and nubia. He is attacking a duke which is located in kingdom of abyssinia. Obviously he has de jure claim on this duke. But the problem here is I have high crown authority everywhere. And even though I do not hold empire of abyssinia, I checked in kingdom abyssinia there is also high crown authority. What am I missing here? I wanted to conquer heretic land and organize it first in nice duchies before handing it out to my vassal king. But now this idiotic bot king is attacking my duke vassal with de jure CB even though I was about to give him this duke.

You said it yourself - you're not holding the Empire of Abyssinia, therefore your crown authority does not apply to your larger vassal.
His own high crown authority doesn't prevent him from declaring war - why should it?

Thanks. Another question. Is there any way of preventing vassals getting new land outside their de jure borders. By insituting high crown authority I prevented 99% of them from fighthing each other for land. The only problem now is inheritance. Can't stop that unless I personaly oversee 1000 people and what they are doing with their kids, families etc even then I can't influence all aspects. I like my lands nice and tidy and these guys just mess everything up. One example is kingdom of france now england, brittany, some duke from ireland, germany, asturias, burgundy, sicily hold land in it. Total mess.

True, it's next to impossible to prevent vassals from doing that. You can let them rebel from time to time and take away their titles to redistribute them, and join your vassal's plots to remove titles from another vassal if they ask for your support.
Whatever you do, it'll be a sisyphean task.

And of course when your king is old and infirm you can go on a tyranny spree revoking titles just because you like things tidy.
Then you'll live on for another 10 years, your heir will die leaving an inbred idiot next in line and everybody will rebel.

Is there no way to have the game record what's happening? I know that game.txt keeps a log of some stuff, but it's not everything, and non of the other files in that folder ever seem to have anything in them.

I was thinking that there might be a mod for it, given how useful such a tool would be, but I haven't found one. Apologies if this is something which has come up and been resolved before, but this thread is 762 pages long.
