Ha, I'm playing Denmark which starts out with one elector that isn't the King. I make sure that one guy is a total yesman and even if he wasn't, it seems my vote weighs more anyway. I intentionally haven't created any more elector titles and make sure no one else can do so either. So, I get the best of both worlds - Elective opinion bonuses, and I get to designate my heir essentially by myself. And as long as the duchy titles don't even exist (Skane and Sjaelland) the local counts don't even get the 'desires the Duchy' opinion malus. So yes, Denmark 1066 is in a fortunate situation and probably good for newbies.

I created Israel and started building the third temple.
But I had no information about construction for 8 years.
How long does it take? Or did I failed building temple? (Former emperor ordered construction but died before the temple built)

Check out the thread for the latest patch, or maybe the one before that. It fixed a bug with the third temple. Might be that it only works for games started after the fix?

Most small kingdoms can be run with you as sole elector or with an extra one.

As High Chief of Kiev, I have a vassal (Halfdan Oskyldr, just subjugated him) with two counties (Chortitza and Bryansk, I got his other counties presumably because I was still a count at the start of the war). Shouldn't I be able to plot to revoke one (no, I'm not Content.)? Do truces affect the ability to even start the plot, do I have to be king first, do both or at least one county have to be in my de jure lands or is the plot broken again?

The problem later partially solved itself by blobby Cumania taking over one of the counties, but still, I'm interested what the conditions for the revocation plot are. Usually 2 county counts can be targetted.

On another note, for the "Russkaya Pravda" achievement: Will subjugating an already existing Gardariki as a Russian Slav count or do I actually have to create it?

How do you make a building be built through event? This is the way I'm trying right now, but it's not working:
Code:
province_event = { #The Colosseum has been built
	id = gladiators.3
	title = "EVTNAMEgladiators.3"
	desc = "EVTDESCgladiators.3"
	picture = GFX_evt_colosseum

	is_triggered_only = yes

	trigger = {
		has_character_flag = colosseum_building
	}

	option = {
		name = "EVTOPTAgladiators.3"
		333 = {
			province_scope = {
				add_building = ct_colosseum
			}
		}
		wealth = -200
		prestige = 250
		piety = -100
		clr_character_flag = colosseum_building
		set_global_flag = colosseum
	}
}

This would probably be better for the Mod Questions, but your problem you are scoping the entire province of roma. You'd want to scope it to b_roma or something.

Keeps its inheritence law unless its one you can't have (eg unreformed pagan usurping will get gavelkind even if the usurped kingdom has something else)

Started the game in 867 as a mere Patrician of Amalfi. Built a trade post and have a son as my heir. I was in position to be elected Doge when the current one dies. However, as soon as the Doge died the game was over. Why does being elected Doge kill the game? I was Republican and all.

According to the wiki the thing with prestige is: "Upon death of your character, prestige is added to your score" and according to the manual, I think, the rule is that: "the heir will get a fraction of his predecossors prestige upon the death of the ruler". I'm playing a game with the excellent Dynamic Duchies mod but noticed when my ruler died that the heir didn't get any "fraction" of his prestige. I've checked the defines.lua to see if their has been made any changes to that file for the mod but can't find anything that would control the amout of prestige transferred to the heir.

Could anyone tell me where to look to see if there's been any changes for the prestige being transferred to the heir.

Yeah, it keeps its own succ law.

However, creating a title copies the succ law of your main title, as well as CA.

According to the wiki the thing with prestige is: "Upon death of your character, prestige is added to your score" and according to the manual, I think, the rule is that: "the heir will get a fraction of his predecossors prestige upon the death of the ruler". First rule:
upon death of a ruler, all his prestige and piety are nullified and transfered to your "score" counter. That one of the little counters in the top right angle of the screen. Score counters are all added to one another to form your final score. For example, as long as you have your first ruler, your "score" is 0, because none of your played characters died yet, but as soon as the first one dies, his prestige/piety goes into the score.

Second rule:
All children are born with a fraction of their parents' prestige. As far as I know, 10% of your "dynastic" prestige is given to each character born into that particular dynasty. That means no prestige is transfered upon death of a parent, children only receive some on birth, and that's it.

Ok, a thread on Steam suggests that the current Doge had a feudal heir and that the Republic died with him. Could it be that? So is there no way of keeping Amalfi a republic upon the death of the first Doge after 867?

Hey
I started a HRE game and pressed the Count of Lucca's Claim on Genoa.
I have won the war but the former Doge of Genoa is now a unlanded King of Genoa and its impossible to declare war on him again. Still he is the Liege of the Bishop of Nizza and since I'am unable to declare war on him I cant get the county of Nizza.
Is there any way to get Nizza? I play in ironman.

I'm playing as the Umayyad dynasty, and I'm frequently getting decadent characters. However, when I go to the Religion panel and ask them to "straighten up", the option is grayed out, with (X) Has NOT already negotiated as the reason why I can't. However, I'm reasonably certain that I haven't asked these characters to straighten up, at least not personally. Does this mean someone else has asked them to straighten up and failed? Do I have to just bite the bullet and imprison them?

Yeah, I realized right after that I posted in the wrong place, thanks for the answer though.
