  • For The Glory
Emir of Portucale/Beja/Santiago. I'm mighty strong and would like to lower Crown Authority in Andalusia, or even declare independence, but can't get anyone to join my factions. The spymaster action is bugged and the rest of the Emirs just aren't all that much into autonomy.

I was hoping a Decadence Revolt would do my Sultan over, but he's just been sitting happily on 100% decadence for years and nothing happens.

1) What's happening? Why no revolts? Vanilla with all the exp and latest (not beta) patch.
2) If and when the Decadence Revolt triggers, what is the best way to make use of it? Is there any chance that the Sultanate will somewhat-historically shatter?

I desperately need to get my dukes to vote for my blood relative, the King of Poland.
My current vassals are:
-Voting for the Duke of Pest
Duke of Pest and Nyitra
Duchess of Pest and Nyitra, my blood relative regularly married to the former (she was too old and her one kid died)
Duchess of Ungvar, the Duke of Pest's mom

-Voting for the Duke of Transylvania
Duke of Transylvania, friend of my heir
My kinsman, holds 3 ducal titles and ISN'T VOTING FOR HIMSELF

-Voting for my kinsman
Me

If I vote for another candidate of my bloodline, my kinsman will vote for them, but voting otherwise will cause him to vote for the Duke of Transylvania.

If I die, I lose my kingdom title, putting me as the regularly married Queen of Sicily, who's too old to have more kids.

So, in essence, how can I convince my vassals, all of which have 40 or greater opinion of me, to vote for my kinsman?

I have no other options. The most I could do is pass it off to the duchess of Pest and delay this for another generation.

Is the King of Poland a different culture? I find that it's nearly impossible to get electors to vote for someone of a different culture sometimes.

King of Abyssinia. Planning ahead to migrate to EU4. Wondering what I need to do to hit the ground running, so I won't need to Westernize. I'm assuming I need to get a high enough tech in my capital, but what exactly does that mean? Do I need to maximize everything? Any other requirements?

Yeah I just started playing Crusader Kings II again, on my new 4k Samsung monitor (3840x2160)

It looks great at 4k res, (UI is a little small but... helps me focus and slow down more. I tend to want to rush through everything.)

I am a heavy player of EU IV and I find it -a lot- easier than CK 2.

For example, in EU IV 1.5 I did this

bMScreF.png

but in CK II I can barely make it up to Duke level (starting from a count) It seems a large order of difficulty more challenging than EU IV. EU IV seems to have more ways to expand, or am I just missing something? Claim fabrication in CK II is extremely slow and very rare in all my games (my council member, forget the name, has like a 10% yearly chance, I know it goes up with skill level but not by much)

What are other ways to expand? I started once as a minor count of Lyon under Middle Francia, was granted the Duchy of Dauphine from my liege, which gave me de jure ducal claims, which I pressed (on Vivarais, took from West Francia when they were busy with the Umayyads), previous to that I gained independence from Middle Francia with the help of West Francia who was allied to me due to marriages between our dyansties. Now I'm sort of stuck, with no more ducal claims (Duchy of Dauphine's entire de jure land is mine)

I mean in EU IV, claim fabrication has a 100% chance of happening, you have a small chance, however, that you may get caught and ruin your reputation though. In CK II, claim fabrication is sort of reversed, with it not being a 100% chance of occuring, but 0%? (Never have been caught) of being caught.

Try playing on a border with another religion or as a pagan, they have more flexibility when it comes to conquest. Alternatively you can try to inherit titles or marry to acquire claims for them down the road. Even with a really good chancellor claim fabrication is very dependent on the RNG and not reliable for quick conquest.

If I want to detect an assassination plot on a character, where should I spend my spymaster to scheme? The character's capitol? The character's current location? Or the location/capitol of the suspected assassin?

So uh, what does "compress autosaves" in options mean?

It compresses/packs the save file into a zip(ped) file, so it's smaller.
Don't compress it, if you want to edit it. Though you can still uncompress it with 7zip or Winrar.

Basically, yes, you are doing it wrong. Claims are fine, but they don't have to be yours and, importantly, they don't have to be fabricated. Marry into claims (if you're lucky/like assassins, you may even marry into the title) -- particularly claims for higher-level titles. Use plots and daggers to put yourself higher in the lines of succession or to put a child on the throne (where you might more readily press your claims). You can use this to strengthen a faction for your claim if you have a claim on your liege lord's title. Invite claimants to your court and land them (or marry them into your family to save their inheritable claims for future generations). If you want easier expansion, start on a religion "frontier" where you can holy war for land. Or, if once you "marry up" and are strong enough, you could consider becoming a heretic. This gives you holy war CBs against all of your former coreligionists. Pagans also have various conquest CBs against all neighbors, so if you don't like the politicking and marrying, that's another option.

CK2 is about characters and their titles, and your strategy should revolve around that, doubly so if you are in the heart of the Christian west.

Also, the catching of claim fabricators results in bribes to your chancellor (where he will not fabricate a claim or try to for a while) or his assassination. It does happen -- I think the percentage chance is noted on the job.

IIRC, thats the revolt risk each year, as showing something like 0.0003453%(note: no actual math of 5% a year) a day would not help a lot.

however, considering multiple provinces, 5% is a LOT of revolts if you have in in enitre persia worth of provinces.

I am Emperor of Britannia.
Have a King level Republic vassal who revolted.
I can not revoke his title. The option is greyed out and there is no tool tip explanation why I can not revoke.

Any ideas please?

If it were a feudal vassal, i'd say the character holding the title changed during the revolt. Might be something else.

How many Catholic holy orders are there in the game? I found five in different sources but I could swear there were six of them after SoA. Is my memory messing with me or what am I missing?

I won holy war and dismissed levies, then I could raise 4000 levies from provinces taken by the holy war!
This can happen only if I raise levies on the same day of winning war.

Is it glitch? I can declare many holy wars continuously by using this system.
