Does anyone have a save file (any time period, any DLC activated) where all the de jure duchies are independent with all their land? If not, does anyone have a World Conquest save? I had a Roman Empire one, but I'm currently away from my desktop at the moment.

Currently King of Abyssina. Wondering if hire a tutor to switch my Heir's culture to a different one for the Cultural specific unit. First I'm wondering if this would be worth it, and secondly, if it was what would I choose? I was thinking Mongol, or one of the other Altaic cultures. Or possibly Greek, for the Cataphracts, since I'm also currently Orthodox.

Is it only me or do looting sieges cause MUCH bigger casualties than normal sieges? Why is that so? This way looting sieges are totally not worth it. 30 gold vs 3000 casualties (from 20000 army) ? Screw it!

I'm assuming you're not just assaulting the target (can you even do that while looting, never really checked) and that you're losing men via events (defenders raid camps etc...). A "gamey" sort of thing is that those events are tied to the commander of the army, not the army itself (since events trigger on characters). If no one is leading the sieging army, these events will not occur.

So, the savegames before v2.1 can only be played if you set the game version into beta in Steam... Ok.

But, do the achievements still trigger while playing those old ironman savegames pre 2.1?

Some people have reported getting achievements on beta patches (not necessarily this specific one). However, I've also seen people say things get all screwed up. So, I honestly don't know what will happen.

So from what I'm reading, you should specialize in your own personal holdings. Either Barracks, Stables or Militia to exclusion of everything else. So if you've got three holdings, you should have one be barracks, one stables and one militia to take advantage of the fact that a given tactics bonus being only for a certain unit types. Correct?

Another question: what's up with that Muslim even where you can either become a poet, or choose something related to hedonism? Does it turn you hedonist, as it would imply, or what happens when you take that choice?

Okay, something really strange has been going on with my succession to the Roman Empire.

So, I set up the Roman Empire. I have two sons. Both born in the purple, not bastards, everything's normal with them, agnatic-cogntic primogeniture. Naturally my older son is going to inherit everything.

When I set up the Roman Empire, my older son becomes the heir to the Roman Empire, but my younger son all of a sudden becomes heir to everything else - my kingdom, duchies, counties, etc. Why?

Well, I'm not sure what's going on, so I just kill the younger son and my older son inherits. But then another odd thing happens.

I marry, my wife produces 4 daughters. I divorce my wife and remarry, she produces a daughter. The 5th daughter all of a sudden becomes the heir to the Roman Empire and all of my duchies, but my oldest daughter remains the heir to the Kingdom of Bulgaria.

So, can anyone explain what's going on here?

Hm. Mostly, improving your personal holdings is a waste of time and money. Do you own LoR? What's your situation ingame?

I've got Legacy of Rome. Orthodox King of Abyssinia and Nubia currently. I don't have all their DeJure Claim territories. I'm missing one from Abyssinia, and 4-5 from from Nubia. In Nubia, one of the territories has been taken by Muslims. Currently kissing up to the Muslim Arabians so they don't attack me.

I can field about 2500 troops from my personal holding, and 3000 from my levies. Said Arabian Empire to the north can field 28000, and is slightly under 50% decadence.

I have another question.

My family tree's undergoing a bit of a crisis right now, with a generation of men who did not do their duty to the cause (and in one particular case, I made him take the vows because his stats were terrible. In hindsight, that was a stupid thing to do), thus leaving me with a generation of women who - despite the AI's control - are actually trying to keep the family alive with proper marriages.

The result of one of these unions is what I like to call "The Promised Child", a boy named Adam - born of my late ruler's youngest daughter (Attractive, Diligent, Brave and being taught by the best martial character in the land...while still having amazing Stewardship scores for his age).

My late ruler's heir died, thus resulting in a mad scramble for an heir (I was 65 at the time. He lived to be 72), and I settled on my ruler's youngest Brother to be a "interm" ruler.

The problem I'm having and the reason for this question is Adam is not showing up as a valid member of succession despite being tagged as one of my dynasty. I can elect his mother as Heir (Which I did) but Adam himself I cannot. Is it because he is not yet of legal age?

I believe you can only elect those who have a claim on your title, or siblings, or children. However, if your siblings/children die, you can elect their children (your nephews/nieces/grandchildren).

In this case, you should be able to elect Adam once his mother dies.
