Do Short-Reign/Long-Reign calculations use the date a child assumes the title or is he only considered to be "Reigning" after he becomes an adult?

Is the Short-Reign/Long-Reign modifier tied to the Title itself, the land the title applies, or to the specific lifespan of vassals? For instance, I note that I have vassals in the HRE with different Short-Reign/Long-Reign numbers. Is it because a previous vassal died so the Reign clock starts over? Is it because of my Kingdom of Fresia title, which I assumed earlier than my Emperor title? Or is it because I acquired some territories later through conquest/inheritance?

'Assume' is the wrong word. ;) "Aquire" or "receive" seems more fitting.
Just sayin'..and

Yes

From the moment the specific character is your specific characters' vassal. So the counting starts anew with every new character.

A bug, I think.

Oh yeah - this is all sorts of messed up. I think it happens all the time and is related to the new revolt code. I lost a vassal due to this bug. What appears to have happened is this: I'm Republic of Italy with Duchy of Sicily as vassal. There was a claim war for Sicily - one of the bishops in Sicily claimed the Duchy. After the war though, Sicily is now vassal to Kingdom of Mali! It looks like Mali joined the war on the side of the revolt. What's happening is that a leige-vassal relationship is being created with the Offer to Join War button (if the ranks are different). In the HRE example, my character actually got the liege ambitions (Steward, etc...) to pop up as soon as he joined the revolt. Major bug!

Why can't a grant one of my sons the city that I hold? I'd like him to become a merchant republic but the city does not show up on the list. I'm an indian king, if that matters. The city appears if I go to grant a title to some unrelated courtier.

Yea, that indian king matters. Hindu follow the caste system strictly.

Okay, so I went to war with Rum for the bit that I've circled in red. I accepted their surrender and.... that happened. Btw, prior to the peace, the only piece of Anatolia I owned was Nikaea. For some reason, the sultan of Rum was vassalised under me in the peace offer. The CB I used was the claim Alexios Komnenos has on the marked duchy from the Alexiad starting point.

So question is: WAD or bug report? (I'm leaning on the latter... duh)

Known bug assumed to be fixed in the latest open beta patch.

ok, changed that, converted. Why isnt the samrat chakravin not in the intrigue tab? dont tell me you need to be indian for it....

Also, where is the designated heir option for jains?

I don't know about the Samrat Chakravin thing, but I think designated heir is an honorary title. At least that is where it is on the republic.

Should your heir change when you change your primary title? I'm playing as King of Galicia, agnatic-cognatic primogeniture, kingdom inherited from mother who married a distant Jimena cousin. I created the title Kingdom of Portugal and made it my primary title, and now my heir is my father, and on my death my sister gets the Kingdom of Galicia plus two Galician counties, and I get a title loss on succession icon.

Is this WAD? Seems really odd to me.

I have a stupid question:

Playing most recent real patch (NOT any of the beta patches), and I am trying to figure out when I am supposed to get access to the Indian Subjugation CB in my current game.

I'm an Emperor, and I converted to Hindu early in my reign from Jain. The only other realm in India is a Jain Deccan Empire. My current ruler has never launched a subjugation war in his life. He has attacked the Deccan Empire to grab some claims before. He has also abused Holy Wars and truces against Sunni realms in the west because he would like to be Samrat Chakavartin before the Mongols show up. I don't have a truce with the Deccan Empire anymore, but I am still considered a truce breaker from my Holy Wars.

Shouldn't I be able to launch a kingdom-level subjugation against the Deccan Empire as a Hindu? Is it because I'm a truce breaker right now, even though I have no truce with the Deccan Empire?
