Its a caste trait so it meens only those characters that are from that caste are allowed to lead armies. So lower cast members can't be war leaders as the marshal requirements also determine who can lead armies.
Not in my game. Haven't had even one that targeted my own sultanate but have had few that attacked my liege. There was someone who just posted about 30000 army appearing in his capital. If that really was so dangerous is another matter really.
Funny you mentioned that, as it took me for a big shock when I declared war shortly after. No Generals! Anyway, that leads to a new question if you or anyone knows. I quickly invited several dudes to court to serve as generals (arrived just in time to plug into army). Turns out I invited several heirs of Mercenary bands to my court. I read of, but never tried, landing mercenaries and making them vassals. Or is that just holy orders. If I land one of these guys and he inherits the band, would that essentially make that Band my vassal as long as the leader is my vassal? And would his sons inherit?
No as now as he is in your court he is no longer a mercenary but your court member. They can't inherite the mercenary band as their successor is selected inside the mercenary bands court so if they are not there anymore they are no longer the heir.
hmmm...it's still shows all of them as heirs of the respective bands they came from. (note: I have not hired any of the mercenaries, just invited guys to court) But maybe it still voids the inheritance somehow. If so, is there any way to land a mercenary band and make them your own? Maybe I'm just thinking of holy orders.
So question - If I made my steam go offline for vacation ( No internet or very little of it ) and the new patch comes out with the new launcher.. Will I still be able to play with the old launcher or no ?. Just wondering since I would like to be able to play with the old launcher until I come back and get the new one.
Yes, if Steam can't access the internet it can't stop you from playing an outdated version through it. (After all, it has no way of knowing that it is outdated).
If you move your CK2 installation outside of Steam's folder you can bypass Steam entirely, too.

Thank you for the information.. Now how do i go about doing that ?. Like how do i make it bypass steam entirely ?. I know one step is to make a folder but is that it or is their something more to it than just doing that lol
If all you need to do is put Steam offline so that you can use it whilst not connected to the internet, just go (in Steam) Account -> Go Offline.
If you want to make an install that will not be updated even if you start Steam online, navigate to wherever Steam is installed/SteamApps/common, copy the Crusader Kings II folder, and put it basically anywhere else on your computer. It's a big folder (~1.5 GB), so it may take a little time to copy.
You can then start the game by launching the .exe (or .app for Mac users) file in that folder and Steam will not start up.

This seems weird to me, but I'm not sure if its working as intended and I'm just missing the effects. I've launched wars with a "Claim <county>" or "claim <duchy>", which have a blue flag next them, but when I win, nothing seems to happen. The county or duchy still belongs to previous owners. Also, sometimes the Casus Belli will have a portrait next to it, and sometimes not. I'm not sure exactly what those do.
Last question. I've launched a Submission war once, and regained the 500 purity needed to do it again, but that option doesn't seem to come up again. I'm using the same character, and the Cultural Group is the same as the country I'm attacking, but the Submission doesn't seem to come up again as an option. Is it because I'm using the same character?

Sometimes the claim isn't for you. Sometimes it's a claim for someone in your court, and if they're not already a vassal and the claimed county isn't de jure for you then they don't become your vassal.
Submission? Do you mean Subjugation? If so, then you're only allowed to declare one Subjugation war per lifetime unless you're a pagan and have the "Become King of X" ambition.
If you want to be sure that the old version can still be played later on without trouble, create a userdir.txt file in your new copied CK2 games folder
that includes the path to a newly created (copy the old one and rename it) CK2 library (user directory) folder for that specific patch version.

Because you're not allowed to join a vassal's war. Ever. Unless they happen to be the Head of Religion, and the war in question is a Crusade/Jihad/Great Holy War.

What do you mean 'make one out of it'? You could always destroy one of the titles and then wait 100 years for the duchies of the other to de jure drift into the Kingdom you still hold.
ok... and whats better? Multiple Kingdoms on one character or destroying the titles?
