Ok, so I'm a bit puzzled here. I've got factions forming in my country. What are my options for dealing with them? I'm not playing the absolute head of a country, and I join a faction, my liege will usually send me a note to knock it off. I can't seem to do the same here. I know there's a diplomacy option to end a plot, but I'm not sure how to do the same with factions.

EDIT: Two more questions. Are there any ways(without resorting to assassination) of preventing any further children? Using Ultimogeniture Succession, and grooming an heir, only to have that change because my wife had another child, is annoying.

AI will usually try to Educate my heir is if my child is not the same/culture or religion as my liege. Playing as a liege, however, keeping track of all that would be a pain. In my current India game, mostly of country is Jain, but I've got two or three Rajs that are Hindu. What would be the best course of action here? They always seem to be causing trouble with Lowering Crown Authority or trying for Independence.

You can scheme with your spymaster on the capital of one of your faction member vassals. Eventually an event will fire.

Either keep track of vassals and educate heirs or replace them with better people. Most (reformed) religions allow you to demand conversion but I guess Indian ones are different. I wouldn't know as I've never played any of them.

Are there any secrets to speed up religious conversion, especially as the Khazar Jew. All my land are governed top to bottom by Jews and my Rabbi is doing his thing, but it takes forever to convert one province. I'm not sure my Dukes are doing anything about it either.

Short of divorce, no, pretty much. Generally this is why Ultimogeniture isn't considered very good.

So the big factor here that's probably burning you as the Khazars is Moral Authority. Your Dukes are almost certainly TRYING to convert things as well, but are being hurt by the same problem (and since they're just Dukes, they probably have a smaller pool of potential rabbis as well, so they might have a low learning rabbi on top of it). Best thing you can do is start some holy wars, and start working your way down towards the holy sites. You can also make sure that every Duke has only one county and all counts under him -- that way, you'll have both counts AND dukes trying.

What is the rationale the AI has behind 'political concerns' about a marriage of bethrotal?

I have placed a welshman matri marrie to a kinswoman of mine on the portugallian throne after pressing his weak claim. His son is already of my dynasty. He is now facing a double war from Castille + Leon and a seperate war from Aragon for the kingdom title. He is losing badly 66% and 33%

and he has 'political concerns' against a betrothal with one of my daughters for his son so I can win his wars for him? What gives? If he does not accept he will lose 100% if he does accept he only has unfounded concerns. /rant off

but anyway what is the decission process of the AI behind this?

Thanks. The code is hard for me to fully comprehend, other than it seems Learning and Culture can factor into things. I have noticed the Moral Authority thing. I'm trying to build it up through Holy Wars. I do certainly want to head south but a bit uncertain about the Muslims this early, instead focusing on blanketing all the Tengri lands, which I've been fairly successful in doing so far. Each war adds to the MA.Getting Holy Sites will take some time, ofc.

Good point on divvying up the land. I've actually mistakes in that regard before reading your post, since usually I give all counties to a potential Duke so that he can create his own vassals. (but usual religion is not so much a factor)

Any thoughts on what to do or not to do as I move towards forming Israel? I've been forming Duchies, but have avoided forming any more Kingdoms. I guess I could form Cumanian Empire soon, but not sure how that will play into forming Israel later.

Is there any way to have your dinasty become Sayyid without converting out of Islam? I can't think of any, but maybe I'm lacking imagination.

From another perspective, if you can become Sayyid as a non-muslim, will the trait continue to pass on?

I'm at a point where I can create a second Empire title. I am the Emperor (Empress, actually) of Britannia. I can create the Empire of Hispania now. I just have to ask a few questions:

1) Are there any advantages to owning two Empire titles? I know that two Ducal titles have advantages over a single ducal title.
2) Will my primary title still be the Empire of Britannia.
3) Is there any compelling reason NOT to create the Empire of Hispania, given that I already have one Empire title?

1. I think its more harm than its worth. Most of the second titles de jure vassals get negative opinion as they want to be the ruler of your second title. You do get claims to all that emperies de jure area and its easier to use claimants to take bigger chucks of that empire area that you don't own. You also get the prestige of the new title every month.
2. yes
3. The negative opinion bonus is one thing. Some else might invent more reasons. The kingdoms are goign to drift to your empire in around 100 years anyway.

It sounds like you mostly have a handle on it -- mostly gotta look for openings down south with weakened Muslims and expand your powerbase in other places if you cannot. If there are any strong pagan kingdoms nearby you, you could also try to convert them to Judaism. It's a long shot, but that's the only way to create potential strong allies without getting ahold of some other kingdom's heir and educating him yourself (or pushing a claim).

As for forming an empire, the empire title will help you in that all de jure vassals of your culture/religion will be very unlikely (is it still never? I don't recall) to join independence factions. You can still form Israel, but you cannot make it your primary title (it is only a Kingdom, after all) so if you're after that bit of roleplay, you have to avoid the empire. Duchies also won't drift into Kingdoms when you do this, so if you're trying to drift duchies, you also need to be aware of that.

Why not give away the newest empire to your spiffy second son, see what he makes of it?

Why not give away the newest empire to your spiffy second son, see what he makes of it?

Because he would then be the most powerful person in the world aside from me and he would have a claim on my primary title?

Oh, and also, I only have the one son. My character's second son died a sickly infant, and her other three children are daughters.

Anyway, thanks for all the help. I've decided not to create it, since the only remaining independent realms are Kings, and they are within already extant dejure territory anyway.

So not sure if this is working as intended or a bug.

So I on my previous character before he died. I borrowed money from the holy orders and got the message saying that you will have to repay it and that you be in the holy order debt with possible son going off to join them Etc . OK well that character died and his heir got stuck with the same - 10 to Temple vassals when he took the throne of the HRE. With the message saying that he still has to pay back the holy orders. OK Fine so he made a donation to both holy orders and it still says that he has to repay the 300 gold coins his father borrowed ?. They are the only 2 holy orders around and he gave them both donations.

So my question is.. Is this working as intended that no matter if he re paid his fathers debts to the holy orders, He still get the -10 to temple vassals as well as the + 10 to temple vassals because he made a donation ?. So I do not understand... Did I not repay the debts when I made the donations or what ?

Also Is it working as intended that if you are a child you are allowed to borrow from Jewish merchants but you cant exile them ?. until you become a adult.. Sounds a bit weird you could borrow from them but cant exile them. You can also welcome them as well.

1) WAD. -1 to opinion isn't a big deal -- the game is designed to make sure that vassals don't like their armies being used unless they're doing the using. If you are attacked, or it's a crusade, there's no penalty.

2) If it's over 100%, you'll eventually get the event firing, but if it's been years, I'd see if there's somebody new you can invite, just to kickstart things.

Something is puzzling me currently in a game. I can't choose the Marshal I want since when I click on the "appoint" button, only 1 dude shows in the list, and he is not the dude I want to be Marshal. Again, the list only contains one of my vassals/court members. Click on any other Council "appoint" button and I see a huge list of characters to choose from, including the dude I want to be Marshal. Most perplexing.

You will need to wait for an event to fire your can't pay the loan back without one.

Too little information there is many things effecting who you can set as certain councillors. For example hindus can only appoint characters with kshatriya trait to be the marshal. Gurus also can't be selected as marshals.
