Is there a bug with truce length? There's no shield in the diplomacy window that says that there's a truce there but when I try to declare a war it says there is. Furthermore the truce is for nearly the next 10 years which doesn't make sense. I've tried reloading the game and nothing happens; it's still there.

No, truces generally last a decade. Or until one of you dies. And I don't remember there ever being a shield in the diplomacy window (though I could be wrong); the shield is displayed when you select a county personally held by the person.

Are you talking about the little shields (found in the diplomacy menu) that display who a character is at war or hostile with? If you are, then there shouldn't be a truce shield on the character you're trying to attack. This is because truces only work in one direction - that is, only the attacker in a war gets the truce after it is over. He is free to attack you immediately after you've attacked him and made peace, with no penalties.

So, does a Sunni heresy which supplants Sunni as the new orthodoxy inherit the Mu'tazilite/Ash'ari controversy or is the mechanic only for Sunni? For instance, I'm going to try and create a Persian Yazidi Caliphate but I really want to be able to utilize Mu'tazilism once that happens.

Its Sunni specific so no its heresy can't use it.

Hi !
Please tell me if i'm not in the right place for this question :
I'm king of Norway and of England. I created the ducky of Cornwall, which is a de jure duchy of England. However the duchy is actually created as a duchy of Norway.
The trouble is, i'd like the duke of Cornwall to vote for the successor of the England kingdom, so i'd like to transfer this duchy from Norway to England, is there a way to do so ?
Thank you very much !

Cornwall is de-jure Wales in 867 and 1066 at least.

Anyway, if you want the duke of Cornwall to vote for the king of England, you'd have to switch your primary title to England, assuming it isn't already, then wait one hundred years. Cornwall will then become a de-jure part of England and will be able to vote for the successor of the king in Feudal Elective succession.

If you've done that and Cornwall is a de-jure duchy of England already, then something is off.

Ho yes, you are right tamius, sorry for the mistake ! Cornwall is a de-jure of Wales. Now i understand why it's not created under the kingdom of England.
Thank you for this quick answer !

Can anyone provide me with a guide or youtube tutorial of some sort explaining how best to give out land?

I honestly have no idea if I should make duchies or kingdoms and if I should try and keep all the domain within my own dynasty or what to do with excess land as I conquer the world.
