Is crown authority retroactive?

One of my kinswoman (who holds a single county) married the king of Hungary. Sure enough I get a message that I will lose that county upon succession. So I change my Crown authority from medium to high, save the game. And then kill the kinswoman and voila it inherited to the Hungarian infidels! Is there still a small chance that the inheritance happens under high law or was it just retroactive?

I believe this to be true....

From a web page:

"Upon passing High Crown Authority titles can no longer be inherited by anyone outside the realm, so you will no longer lose parts of your realm due to inheritance."

You have to read this very carefully (that last phrase is kind of false as well - the bolded part is what matters). If there's a title in your realm and the owner dies then someone outside your realm can't inherit it. That's not what happened in your case. The King of Hungary did not inherit the county - what happened here is that your kinswoman switched vassals and I don't think there's any law that can prevent that. I think switching to Agnatic cuts down on this because then eventually all your vassals would be males and it's harder for them to leave.

Also note that Crown Laws only apply to provinces within the De Jure Kingdom (check the map toggle) - not your entire realm.

Can you convert religion in one of your vassal's provinces? I've never been able to do that.

Also can you fabricate claims within your Kingdom? Again, I've never gotten that to work.

You absolutely can change religion of a vassal's province, I do it all the time. It helps a lot to have reasonably high religious authority and a high scholarship councilor as the base chance can get really low otherwise (like < 3%/year)

I don't think you can fabricate claims within your realm but I could be wrong about that.

2 - Will I be able to access my save games offline. I do not save them to the cloud but normally. So will I be able to access my save games normally without internet ?

so i discovered that in one of the recent patches they added a 500 prestige cost to using the invasion cassius belle as the mongol culture, and was wondering what i would have to do to get up prestige quickly if i am playing a mongol jain patrician.

1) You can play offline. You don't even have to launch CK2 through steam at all. You can launch from the CK2 directory. You can even move that whole directory and keep a copy of an old version forever that way.
2) If you save to your computer and not to the cloud, then they're on your computer.

Quick question.

I created my own dynasty with the ruler designer and had 3 children.
My youngest daughter was betrothed to some duke, but when she was 16-17 (before the marriage) she had a bastard son. Some event regarding this hit (don't remember exactly what) en received the question what I wanted to do.
Seeing I have a new dynasty I welcomed an extra member to my dynasty that could potentially create some new kinsman for me in the future; but the kid received a new House name/sigil and is not of my dynasty.

Is this because I can't legitimize children of my own children or did I just miss something

Yup ;)
You can't legitimize your children's bastards. Only they can do it themselves.

And if it was your daughter who had the bastard then it wouldn't even be her, it would have been the father who had the option of legitimizing the child as his dynasty. That is of course assuming you arent the father... (I have had many games where the irish have engaged in a few too many family flings)

Since there's no pop-up that ever says "sex" anywhere in the game, I'm guessing you're looking for one of the lover or pregnancy events, though I'm not sure which one. Try here:
http://www.ckiiwiki.com/Birth_Events

If the one you meant is not there, I suggest looking through the events files.

You can fire any event by # with the console. The command is "event"

Is there a way to turn an ironman game into a normal savegame? I'm having a lot of luck and I am thinking about doing an AAR, but I want to mod the game a little before I start. Thus, I need the savegame to be a normal one, as I believe the mods have to stay the same for an ironman to work, right?

Edit: Or else, is it possible to run an ironman game even if you add mods? The save was started with vanilla, so Achievements are turned on and I always thought you couldn't use mods afterwards then.

Does anyone have time to briefly explain looting to me? I tried it once as a Tengrist Kirghiz character, but I didn't seem to get anything out of it. I raised a bunch of troops from my lands, toggled the 'loot' option after selecting them, then sent them in to a province ruled by the Muslim Seljuks. Once they arrived my soldiers started besieging the first holding there, but even after the enemy garrison surrendered and I got the victory notice, the game still told me that I got 0 gold from looting.

Am I missing something?

You absolutely can change religion of a vassal's province, I do it all the time. It helps a lot to have reasonably high religious authority and a high scholarship councilor as the base chance can get really low otherwise (like < 3%/year)

I don't think you can fabricate claims within your realm but I could be wrong about that.

Along with that. What's the best way to raise Moral Authority for a religion. Holy Wars seem to do it, but is that permanent?(at least until you start losing wars) or does that expire after a set amount of time?

You can only loot provinces directly bordering your own provinces, or bordering a seazone with your ships in it. I would recommend trying the Norse first for that. Your units should have those yellow torches next to their heads, if you hover over them it will tell you how much your units are currently looting. You don't have to besiege to the end castles to gain money, but they give nice boosts. You can just let your units stand in the province untill their torches become red and send them to the next one. If you are looting by ship, the money gets stored in your boats, there is a little yellow bar telling you how full they are. If you are looting by land connection, the money goes right into your treasury, if I understand correctly.

Ah, that makes sense. I didn't know that you could only loot neighbour provinces. Thanks very much.

It expires. Other good ways for temporary moral authority include converting ruler (like your vassals or pagans that are intimidated by war). The only permanent, long term ways to improve moral authority however are reforming (if pagan) and seizing all holy sites in the name of your faith. Your religious head also has an impact on moral authority, but that is largely out of your control.

You absolutely can fabricate claims within your own realm. It can actually be quite useful when you have some vassal whose title you want to take but you can't afford the "tyranny" penalty throughout the realm.

I ask because in current game I started as the Maharaja of one of the countries in India(name escapes me at the moment). Using the ruler creator, I switched on Heroic Immortality and the Waldensian religion which doesn't initially have a religious head. I'm assuming that the Waldensian religion doesn't get a religious head, even if I were to somehow supplant the Pope(Waldensian is a Catholic Heresy). Supposing I did supplant the Pope, would it be possible to make it the mainstream of Catholicism and all other versions as heresies?

There are no religious heads for Waldensian, so you'll never get that bonus. However, you still have holy sites you can claim. And yes, you can supplant Catholicism and become the "dominant" branch in its place. You need, I think, 5 more counties than the current dominant branch.
