Hi All.
I'm the Wendish Emperor and have taken the Kingdom of Bulgary long ago (along with half of Europe already :) ), but I don't like to keep vassal knights other then Pope, so I've tried to revoke it from my kinsman. But suddenly game refuses it cause 'Byzantium Empire doesn' allow revokes'. Yep, that is right, they have autonomous vassals at the moment, but why should I care? Bulgary is in Wendish de-facto (while in Byzantium de-jure). Is it a bug or a feature? That the de-jure laws are taken, not de-facto?

As far as I understand it, the de-jure crown laws have prominence. It sort of makes sense. But if you hold Bulgary long enough, good old de-jure drift will mean you can revoke it.

There's a time limit for a vote to pass, probably since you can't cancel a proposal while the voting is in progress...

I'm confused by a "claim throne" war that just happened. One of my vassals, a duke of my family tree, had a claim on the kingdom of Bohemia. As king of Poland, I helped pressing his claim thinking woohoo a free country.

At the end of the war, Bohemia remained independent with my kinmen as the new king, and he also carved out the ducky off my kingdom into Bohemia.

I thought I was supposed to get Bohemia as a vassal of mine, what am I doing wrong? Maybe not being an emperor? (I NEED Bohemia in order to create the Wendish empire)

You can NEVER have a vassal of the same rank as you. You pushed the claim of a king as a king. He also took your duchy with him, presumably, because he held it before. You are correct in that if you had been an Emperor, you could have a King level vassal.

Pressing a vassal's vassal's vassal's claim as a King for a County...

Duke->Count->Unlanded

If the claim is pressed (Unlanded becomes Count) does Unlanded become a vassal of Duke or of King?

If the County is in any one of my De Jure lands (for any titles I hold) then he becomes my vassal right?

My current heir (first born son) got married to a barones in a German province. Now she is his liege and I can't grant him any land or do anything with him. He's residing in the court of said German province. it was a regular marriage. How did I get myself into this? Why did he move to Germany and not vice versa?

I'd like to make him a bishop so that the throne goes to the better, 2nd son. How do I fix?

If the claim is pressed (Unlanded becomes Count) does Unlanded become a vassal of Duke or of King?

If the County is in any one of my De Jure lands (for any titles I hold) then he becomes my vassal right?

Assuming the claimant is of your dynasty or the title in question is part of your de jure realm then the new count will be your vassal (whether you are a duke or a king). If neither of those apply the title will change holders but otherwise remain unchanged (will keep the current liege, if any).
My current heir (first born son) got married to a barones in a German province. Now she is his liege and I can't grant him any land or do anything with him. He's residing in the court of said German province. it was a regular marriage. How did I get myself into this? Why did he move to Germany and not vice versa?

If one person in a marriage is landed and the other isn't, the unlanded person will always move to the court of the other. If you want to marry a child to a landed noble and keep them in your realm you have to give them a holding before the marriage occurs (i.e. you have to arrange a betrothal for them and land them between the acceptance and the wedding).

Hi,
Need a quick answer.
I am King of Bavaria, Bohemia and Poland.
My vassal, the Duke of Bohemia had a claim for Kingdom of Burgundy.
If I took the Kingdom of Burgundy for him, he will be the King of Burgundy ? But will he stay as my vassal ?

Hiya,

Been playing for a few weeks and am slowly getting the hang of everything. Have hit a major succession issue though. I've managed to unify Spain under the Empire of Hispania and still hold most of the kingdoms. I have elective succession on the empire and all kingdoms. I have granted my chosen successor the Kingdom of Navarra and dependent duchies and nominated him as successor to all the other kingdoms. There's a bit an argument about the succession of the empire which I'd expect, but the issue is that my idiot son is now the heir to all the duchies I still hold and I can't seem to nominate my chosen successor since I create the emperor title.

This mean he'll inherit all the counties and baronies I still hold that give the empire its power, leaving my successor in a tricky fight to regain control. Is this correct? Is this due to succession laws of the duchies themselves that I can no longer change (ie are they now gavelkind)?

Help. Or war is sure to follow. More war anyway.

I've been playing as Venice recently and I am listed as dejure part of the Byzantine Empire.

My question is, how long does it take to lose this status? That is to say, how do I become truly independent from my Orthodox friends? I was under the impression that it was 100 years but it's been longer than that now. I also noticed that I have the option of creating a duchy title for Venice. Do I have to do this in order to start becoming independent or is the King-tier title good enough?

Thanks in advance for any help. Hopefully I was clear enough with my question.

No, that's not the point. Making someone a bishop DOES disqualify them from succession, so it can be useful that way. However, you can't just appoint your own heir as bishop. You can get pesky brothers and other sons out of the way that way.

2. Tried killing the heir. Then next in line became his son (ie. my grandson) that he had out of wedlock with a courtier. I kill this grandson, then next in line was his first son with the baroness. I'm playing under primo law, so shouldn't the next in line been my 2nd son? Why is it going to the grandkids?
Nope, primogeniture is a law that follows the bloodline of the eldest heir. Your first son's male issue stand to inherit above all of your other children. The game doesn't handle this well (seems to get lost in the family tree tracing along the way), but in theory, you could have a great-great-great grandson inherit directly if those in between died first.

I guess ultimately I want to figure out how to avoid this in the future. I had a regular marriage with a baroness so I figured the wife would move to my country and they'd be under me, not the other way around

Landed people NEVER leave their own court (well, unless you count appointments to their liege's council or joining the army). Doesn't matter if it's a regular marriage or a matrilineal marriage. If they are unlanded, a regular marriage moves them both to the male's court and a matrilinial marriage moves them both to the female's court.

@JonStryker : yeah, but will I lost the Duchy Bohemia ? because the duke become King of Burgundy ?

He CANNOT stay as your vassal because he is king and he WILL take all territory that is already rightfully his with him. That means the Duchy of Bohemia will leave your realm with him.

You have to be in another Empire to drift out of an Empire these days. If you were, say, in the HRE, you would drift out in 100 years. All that matters is that the WHOLE Kingdom (in your case, just the full province of Venice) is in the other Empire.

Assuming the claimant is of your dynasty or the title in question is part of your de jure realm then the new count will be your vassal (whether you are a duke or a king). If neither of those apply the title will change holders but otherwise remain unchanged (will keep the current liege, if any).

But in this case he can't keep the current liege because they are of equal rank. Is his new liege his old liege's liege?
