Description:
The ruler has 3 empire titles (Russia, Wendish, Carpathia) & 11 kingdom titles, all but one (Hungary) elective. Crown authority: high. I want to nominate a new heir for all these titles, a cousin, instead of the current half-brother. The cousin is eligible for the empires, but not for kingdoms. He just doesn't appear in the lists of candidates for any kingdom. The previous ruler was current ruler's uncle, father of the mentioned cousin and he already had all these titles.

What the hell?
When will it be fixed?

Upd: 1. Generally, cousins are eligible for empires, but not for kingdoms. 2. Children inherit claims for empires, but not for kingdoms and lower titles.
It seems to be a bug.

I dont get the norse to norman to english melting pot.

If I'm the norse king of england and I invade northern france, will my provinces flip to norman?

And after that, how do I go to english?

So did they invade/subjugate you or not? It's not clear to me with my English...

High relationship DOES decrease the possibility of an attack, but it's not guaranteed. If the potential enemy (who may even be allied to you!) has nowhere to expand, due to truces or lack of CBs, he may attack you even with +100 relations, I've witnessed this many times. The more weaker you are and more stronger he is is a factor, too. But usually, licking up to potential enemy's arse with gifts, Chancellor and alliance prevents you from being a target. Especially if they are busy elsewhere, they will leave you alone.

But as I said, it's not guaranteed. It's true especially with ERE for some reason. The Basileus will eventually come after me, poor Armenia, even if the relations are at +100...

Yes the did subjugate me in the past (happened once only but it was enough), so I can guarantee that it is possible. Be careful if you're next to Hungary.

I've noticed that, as a republic, if I create an empire/kingdom I have the option to move my capital to the de jure capital of that realm. Ordinary, republics aren't allowed to change their capital. Is this safe, or will it result in me becoming a feudal lord or something?

I have done so before, moving from Winchester to London.

To be on the safe side, make sure you own a city in the new province (which should then automatically become your county-level holding), and also that it is on the coast. :)

Norse -> Norman when they rule Frankish provinces, Norman/Anglo-Saxon -> English when anglo-saxon provinces are ruled by a norman.

Not just Frankish, but all north France cultures. Unless this has changed recently, it originally meant Frankish, Breton or Occitian. That could cause some weird results like getting the Norman culture event in Cornwall.

I don't quite understand how this strategy works. I mean several Imprison attempts will fail - so you're just supposed to fight all the revolts right from the start?

Well, not all of them are going to say 'no' and you don't ask them all at once. That's pretty much saying 'kill me'. You revoke the title one at a time, waiting until you succeed or fail with one attempt before doing it to another vassal.

I understand that we can now sail the Indian ocean and establish a merchant republic in india/oman/abyssynia etc.
If I create an AI merchant republic in the same ocean, will it be able to boom or will it not do anything as the AI can't handle multiple bodies of water?

I'd also like to know if there's a small mod that links the Red Sea to the Meditarranean? I read somewhere that CK2+ had it but is it available as a small mini-mod?

Thanks :)

I found one after a quick forum search: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?674347-MiniMod-Suez-Portage. It's for a rather old version - 1.09, guessing by the date.May I ask why you're looking for such a thing? The mod is redundant, anyway, now that the Indian Ocean is traversible, and the Suez Canal wasn't built for 400-odd years after the game ends.

Hi.
I'm wondering, how people get huge new kingdoms into their empires with inheritance? Cause if I am trying to marry someone's heir in my favor it always say something like 'too high in succession line'. The only way to subjugate christian kingdoms into my mighty wendish empire seem to be landing someone and pressing their claim (or using duchy claims).
Also usually when I land someone with a claim on whole kingdom or empire - I don't get this casus belly somehow (I don't have the press claim for this in declare war list) - what I'm doing wrong?

Also a question on retinues - it is usually said that cultural retinues are better then generic. I've bohemian culture and cultural retinues 'Hussars' with 500 Light Cav and +60% defensive.
Currently I prefer to have shock retinues in center and cavalry on flanks. Should I switch to total hussar retinues? What should work better on hordes (as the time is coming...). I thought that it is better to crush enemy on skirmish phase with light cav and therefore +30% offensive of cavalry attack should work better. Plus knights give me a chance to survive in melee. The center of shock retinues allows me to survive attacks to and wait for cavalry to flank. Any advices?

The ai is more willing to enter "dumb" marriages as a betrothal so you can often betroth your heir to their daughter in situations where they wouldn't agree to a similar marriage. Another tactic frequently used is to marry someone down the succession line then arrange "accidents" for everyone ahead of them in line (as well as any inconveniently arriving younger brothers).

They don't like their independance threatened. This kind of marriage works better when you have the same title level. Also, murder is a good option. Marry the 4th in line, murder her siblings, and voilà!
Also usually when I land someone with a claim on whole kingdom or empire - I don't get this casus belly somehow (I don't have the press claim for this in declare war list) - what I'm doing wrong?
Maybe your claimant have a weak claims ? In this case, the owner of the title must be in a weak position :
- he's a child, a female, an incapable (trait), ...
- someone else already contests his title

So i have a rather interesting question. I've recently started a game as Rassid in 867 and almost immediately i went heretic... Hurufi in fact. after some interesting times i decided to take over the Emirate of Medina and quickly allowed myself to become the new Hurufi Caliph. now my question here is, will the event, Shia Rising, still happen? i should also go further to say that i've become the new orthodoxy for Shia as well but i'm really curious if a Shia caliph will try to form and try to take back the place of Orthodox Leader of hurufi Islam.

Is there some mod that make alliances more bounding ? Alliances have close to no drawback, and plenty of benefits... Sure you have to join his wars, but there is no penalty if you don't help him and he loses...
On the other hand, AI allies almost always help you - unless they take the prestige hit and do not join.

I'd love a mod that make you share defeat malus, or anything that balances alliances. Do you know any ?

I found one after a quick forum search: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?674347-MiniMod-Suez-Portage. It's for a rather old version - 1.09, guessing by the date.May I ask why you're looking for such a thing? The mod is redundant, anyway, now that the Indian Ocean is traversible, and the Suez Canal wasn't built for 400-odd years after the game ends.

Thanks ! The suez canal (or portage) system was mainly so I could have the pleasure of trading with Europe without having to use the Arab states as intermediaries, but this will do for the time being.

By the event code yes they can as long as Shiite Caliphate does not have a holder. It doesn't matter if its not the orthodoxy currently.

Hi.
I recently bought the game and I really enjoying it.
I began with Wessex recently and became King of England a few years later. Until here, no problem.
But... The Pope launched a crusade against West Francia ( I m in 965) because the ruler became cathar. I join the crusade, and finally, I have a score of 40% at the end. Yes but, I don't receive the targeted lands...
It's the duke of Nantes (with only 12%) who received them. So, ok, I quit, I reload (yes, it's my first crusade), I kill the duke of Nantes and... it's now Wales who received West Francia (it was not member of the crusade!)...

I don't understand... Are there any situations where the "winner" of the crusade doesn't receive the targeted lands? I searched and found nothing about that... Maybe claims of other rulers are involved in this situation?
Thank you.

EDIT : I see there is uncertainty about war score during crusade. I forgot to mention it, but I besieged 4 counties and made only one battle... Some people say battles are more important, other besiege.
