Someone mentioned that even by limiting yourself to two duchies in your overall demesne, they shouldn't contain more than 30 holdings, as a bigger amount slows down tech spread. Is it true?

Not that i know and not by intent, rather by a coding mistake or overflow or such, but i have no idea. Sounds weird. :huh:

common/landed_titles/00_landed_titles.txt has the colours listed after each title's entry. Modifying them will almost certainly change the checksum.

When I played a good while ago, when granting lands, it was in the Order of "Kingdom" "Duchy" "Count" "Barony" and it was very easy to find what I wanted and give it out quick and easy.

Now it is completely alphabetical, so after a holy war or so, granting duchy titles or count ones are hiding inbetween all those annoying baronies and I have to bother to make sure I remember the names to find them. Is there a way to change it back, any did paradox mention why they made this silly change?

I've restored the Roman Empire and moved my capital to Rome, but for some reason my religious head is considered to be the Ecumenical Patriarch. All the Pentarchs are Orthodox and I've repaired the schism. Does anyone know why this is? I'm a merchant republic if that matters.

I don't quite understand your question, but if you want to see how electors are voting, click on the Laws screen and hover over one of the candidates - his supporters will be listed.

That works. I was trying to figure out who I should try to get friendly with so that they would vote for me. Of course, if I can't buy their votes I will just kill off their preferred candidate. I'm not picky.

Are you using any mods that could be causing this? If not you might want to verify the integrity of your game files as the province seems perfectly normal to me (5 holding slots appear, the first 3 are filled) at the Old Gods start.

I tried to re-create the error, but I didn't get it again. The game may have initialized improperly the time I got it. I'll see if it happens again.

The nominal ''leader'' of the Pentarchy (Orthodoxy) is the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople no matter where you move the Capital.

Yes, if the checksum gets changed then you will be ineligible for any achievements

You have to have no titles currently using gavelkind to destroy any title. This includes all kingdom and empire level titles you own, not just the one(s) you are interested in destroying.

It was an error, they have already said it will be reverted in the next patch.

I had empire of Italia + kingdoms of Italy, Sicily, Venice and Africa. Kingdom of Africa had gavelkind succession. I couldn´t destroy any emperor/kingdom title, except for kingdom of Italy, which seemed weird to me. Any ideas why that happened? It seems rules are inconsistent...

To be fair, he answered your vague question as well as could be expected. As for your clarified question, they increase in childhood based on the parent until 6 and the guardian thereafter. I don't know that anyone has fully spaded out the percent chance for everything, but the general rule is "the higher the stat of the guardian, the more likely he is to increase the child's stat" -- this thread started looking at some of that: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?772994-Ward-base-stat-gain-experiment

The other way they change is by event, which you have already seen. Some of these fire in education as a child, some of these fire when you have the ambition to increase skill at X, and a very few fire from other causes.
