Can a crusade be launched against India ?

(And is this normal that a Jain emperor have a single courtier for the plots ?)

I think the value for that is 0, but I don´t know if that means crusade can´t fire. It definitely means they´d have to hold everything with higher value, which is improbable.
How big is your empire? Or is it 1 courtier supporting your plot? Then you just might be unpopular.

My own questions:
1) How does affinity in combat work? If I have awesome charge (category charge) at the flank and at the same time pike column advance in centre (category advance), will my center get buffed?
2) Is it possible to raise levy, reorganize it (again, I mean flanks and number of units here) and then somehow fix this state, so next time you can raise it, unite it and then just click somewhere to have it reorganized as you want it? Or do I have to reorganize it every time and/or just use more retinues?
3) speaking of retinues - what should I get as king of Italy in 940s? Thank you.

Independence revolts: How to stop or reduce their occurrence?

Possibly related:

Playing as Ilkhanate Khan, which is an empire-level titular post. I know that if I form a same-level de jure title (like Empire of Persia) I will lose the titular title, so the question is - is there any point in doing that?

Vassals of same culture, same religion and in de jure lands cannot join/form independence factions. That should cover both questions.

Not quite. My independence revolts aren't rebellious vassals but randomly generated "rebel" wars about "liberating [Persia/Armenia/Syria/whatever]".

Is "same culture, same religion and in de jure lands" a cumulative criteria, or alternate? I.e., is it enough that they fulfill one of those criteria, or must the fulfill all of them?

These happen when the direct liege of the province, , the count, is of wrong culture or religion or both.
So to prevent those you could install an equivalent liege with the respective culture/religion.

Well thats how it used to work. I never bothered having different cultured lords.

ALL!

Regarding rebels, gradually provinces will convert to your culture/religion and will be reduced. Culture change does take time. Religion conversion is faster and you will notice a drastic reduction in revolts once most of your provinces have changed religion.

If a vassal is all of the above they will not join/start an independence faction. Note that this includes lands that are de jure by virtue of drifting. If any of the three are not met then the vassal is eligible to join/start an independence faction with the likelihood going up as their opinion of you drops (so a vassal that is wrong religion & culture is more likely to join due to the opinion modifiers).

What triggers when The Spymaster's "Build Spy Network" succeeds? I can't find anywhere what defines "Vicious Rumors Spread" and "Corruption Uncovered".

They are both events and can be found in the events folder in the file job_spymaster.txt as you seem adept with the game files.

Playing as a patrician, the "conquer trade post" wargoal says it does not apply against "much weaker" families of the same republic.
Anyone know where the bar lies? If I have 5 trade posts, will I be able to take another family's 3rd or 2nd?

Trying to decide whether or not to give up my position as a doge for a while...

Unless it has changed, there was a hard limit after you were beating them by 4+ trade posts. Take that with a grain of salt as I have not played a Republic in some time...

What would that value be that represents the turning point (100) and the relative probability above that for an event to fire ?

...and would it be better/easier to understand ? Also, how do you determine plot power by character when you invite them ?

I think the limit is having 4 more, but you can never, ever declare a Conquer Trade Post war on a vassal patrician while you're a Doge. And no, I wouldn't recommend giving up the Dogeship, because the Republic AI is generally quite useless and you'll start raking in obscene amounts of cash as Doge once you expand your Trade Posts and your Palace. As a Fraticelli Venice (converted via event, not a Ruler Designer thing), I controlled all of Italy south of the Po and north of Apulia (including Rome), and my monthly income was about the same as with my Restored Roman Empire that controlled all of the Black Sea, about two-thirds of the Mediterranean coast and most of the southern Channel coast. As a Republic, you can become ludicrously outrageously powerful if you work at it for a few generations.

Shouldn't Agnatic-Cognatic Seniority succession put males before females? One of my kingdoms is not even considering my son, who is the only surviving male of the line. It's putting females of the line ahead of him in succession.

Is he a bastard or otherwise disqualified (bishop, holding land in a different realm and blocked by crown authority, etc.)?

On the trade posts thing (from cb types file):

not{ num_of_trade_post_diff = {character = FROM value = 3}}

So it looks like you have to have 2 or fewer more than the target.

Different titles can have different succession laws, even if they are held by the same person. It seems one of your Kingdoms is somehow Absolute Cognatic (Navarre? Are you Cathar?)
