Also, each ruler can move the capital once per lifetime, but gets a free capital move to the de jure capital of your primary title if you own it. If your de jure title is Poland, you can save up tech points, move capital to Kiev, spend them, move capital back to Krakow, until you are ready to move it for good.

Oh, thanks didn't know.
That could cause some capital-dancing in the near future.

What would be the most secure way to trigger a full blown civil war in a large Muslim realm ? (NB : obviously, I'm refering to the game....)

Lots and lots of assassinations until a newborn takes the throne, I'd imagine. Ideally you'd also want said newborn's claimant relatives and siblings to be landed.

Me and my friend were playing MP. I´ve got republic DLC, he don´t. He layed republic - no problem there, but he was seeing his characters naked ;) Is it a bug? Can we somehow get rid of it? We also used ruler generator at the beginning of the game. It´s no big deal really, but he´s a little annoyed by it and I finally remembered to ask. Thanks. :)

EDIT: Also, after about 170 hours of playing, I´ve just noticed somewhere on the forum there are combat tactics! That would be useful to know earlier :D I am reading through it, but one thing I don´t understand. How the affinity works? If you have one tactic on one flank and other which match affinity on other (or centre), will both be buffed?

How do Crusades work as an Orthodox? I have only played through 1 game as a reformed Norse pagan and that let me declare great holy wars on whoever I want for whatever I wanted. Does the Patriarch call for them? If I start a crusade will Catholics come? If Catholics start a crusade will I get the ability to join?

Crusades literally show up as a popup quickly dismissed as "no concern of ours".

Wow, didn't they kinda, you know, participate in these kind of things?

The Orthodox church in the east? Not unless you count things like being the target of the 4th Crusade or the Teutonic Knights' attacks on Orthodox groups (like Novgorod) in the north. So unwilling participants in the sense that they were invaded...

What year do pagans start converting? Because it's 1014 and the king of Hungary still won't convert to Orthodoxy

You are past the point where they AI is very unlikely to convert; however his traits might be impacting your chances. Zealots almost never convert while Cynics are more likely to accept missionaries. They are also more likely to convert if they fall under religious attack and start to lose.

There aren't any.

Sadly, which isn't represented in the game, the very first crusade was initiated by request of Byzantine Emperor Alexios Komnenos, and repealing turks in Anatolia was its goal as well as reconquest of Jerusalem. Byzantium, obviously, participated in it as well. As for Crusades against Orthodox themselves, while there were some conflicts between them and crusaders, there were not sanctioned by the pope.

It's possible to start converting pagans in a reliable way from the year 900, 930 if you want to be extra sure.

A note of warning about spreading orthodoxy to the whole world, as I did in my previous Poland game: Europe needs as many catholic countries as it can get, since only they will join crusades. The more countries you convert to orthodoxy, the more fractured and weak the catholic world gets, with crusades failing and heresies going rampant worldwide.

And? I'm a Byzantium that turned the black sea into a lake, control the whole Italian peninsula, and am in the process of reclaiming Jerusalem. If that means more civil wars in the Karling blobs then good, I'm just trying to figure out why they refuse to convert to any form of Christianity despite half of Hungary being owned by Germans and Czechs

All things considered you should not mend the schism before all holy orders are created and you can vassalize them. If you go first chance you get (like me) you will be stuck only with the Sepulcher.

Pagans don't automaticly convert they need to be converted and they will not always convert. Zealot character never converts for example.

How would I join a Great Holy War as a Norse when I'm not the fylkir but allied to him?

A little banner will appear at the Left Edge of your screen, clicking on it will take you to the Join War screen.
