I recently got back into the game after a long hiatus when I got the DLCs during the recent sale from Rajas, and noticed some differences.
No mods, but playing the "beta" from Steam that doesn't have India, since this is an old game.
First, when I call up levies on vassal provinces, the garrison and levy bars of the vassal holdings are not lowered. Added to that, I can't seem to raise all of the levy of a specified county, as in, the green bar says more units than I actually get, and that is from the top holder of said province. I can't seem to get armies as big as I would expect from my king vassals (playing an Emperor), either.
Second, every time I load the game, all of my armies are missing their assigned leaders, it seems armies in a siege get to keep one, but not always. This actually caused my Hospitaller Mercenaries to lose their leaders. What's going on here?
Third, how does inheritance work? I got the Kingdom of Sicily (way back when, so it's entirely possible this isn't a recent change) after killing the just crowned title holder of my dynasty, stealing it from under the ton of Hauteville claimants, but now the title seems to go back to those claimants, or someone else in that kingdom, and not into my family.
Fourth, how do independence factions work? I keep getting people who like me decide to go up against me, including in the most recent faction, my lover with 100+ opinion of me, and not a bunch of lower opinion vassals.
Fifth, is it possible to get a claim on Rome with your chancellor? I have had one there for about 50+ game years and nothing.
Sixth, did the decision regarding matrilineal marriages by the AI change? I have 5 or 6 vassal titles going out of families due to female heir or current holder deciding to go the traditional marriage way, with lower title or non title husbands.
Thanks in advance for any answers.
