Will thar random factor push the number up or down? Cause i noticed a decadence revolts gives you about twice the size of your own levy to fight against (i had to fight 500k troops as abbasds once)

It's … random, so it could push it up or down. I don't have the power to predict which the game will pick.

Decadence invasions are different from adventurers, though.

Perfect. So if Jihads have not been activated, taking those counties won't activate it unless I take Baghdad itself (or one of the other holy sites). Thank you.

Wont the Jihad for Anatolia either way ? (or do I remember it wrong?)

I pressed my wife's claim for a duchy, but she was toppled a year later, and exiled in a remote court. I want to press the claim again (fewer eligible claimants to the duchy), but apparently I can't seem to bring her back to my court. How can I bring her back? Is she stuck in exile forever?

Which is the best option for improving the Pope's opinion of my character?

1) Sending my chancellor to Rome to improve diplomatic relations
2) Sending my chaplain to Rome to improve religious relations

Does the spymaster's ability "Build spy network" support the chancellor's ability "Forge claim", so that the chancellor gets a higher chance of success? Building a spy network is supposed to improve the odds of intrigue events, but I'm not sure if it only applies to the intrigue events initiated at the intrigue screen or not.

If you really want a boost; send both. I think the Chaplin gives better results but if you only want to use one pick the one with the best skills.

Regarding your spymaster question; I don't think so. Its mostly for assassinations and the like.

Question of my own: can we no longer join non-religious wars involving non-allies?

If she isn't landed and is still your wife you should have no trouble getting her to agree to an "invite to court" diplomatic request (assuming she doesn't hate your guts for cheating on her).

My Wendish empire managed to infiltrate Byzantium and replace the ruling family, their next emperors will be relatives of mine. I could play with the elective monarchy system and choose that kid as successor to the Wendish. We're both orthodox.

I definitely don't want to become emperor of Byzantium, but without my help they will be eaten alive within 50 years.
Does it make more sense to let Byzantium die and push over a holy war after another? Or can I just become emperor of Byzantium AND Wendish and destroy the Byzantium crown?

Been emperor of Byzantium as a Spartenos, having revolts and sunni invasions once a year was really a pain.

I am quite often attacked by this adventures (I guess) who just appear out of nowhere with army usually bigger than mine and trying to get my stuff. Is there a way how to prevent it or at least make it less probable? I am a pagan king.

Also, is it worthy to reform Slavic pagan? I´ll loose my defensive bonuses, so is there any difference between reform and going christian? Can I still raid? Thx.

Reformed pagans gets succession laws other than gavelkind, higher CA options and are better at converting. They also get Holy Wars (one of the best CBs in the game). They can still raid as well. The short reign penalty is reduced, though not to the levels of other faiths.

1) Sending my chancellor to Rome to improve diplomatic relations
2) Sending my chaplain to Rome to improve religious relations

I always have my chaplain in Rome as Catholic unless there is a province I personally hold that needs converting. Even if I reach 100 opinion I keep going, never know when you need a claim or invasion from him.
Can usually find better use for my chancellor(claim or maintain vassal's opinions).

You can lose the stressed trait through various events. I can't remember the exact criteria tbh but I think having a content character at your court might be one of the triggers.
To build on this you can loose it like you say in various events.

All the lover-events AFAIK has the chance of removing stressed(arrange a ball, show her the castle etc.)
Going on Hajj(Stoning the devil) or Pilgrimage(as homosexual)
Any courtier that has content. MTTH is reduced if the courtier is patient(4) and diligent(3), while slothful(0.2) and lustful(0.5) increase MTTH.
ROI added some events I am not familiar with, that also has the potential to remove it. There is also a bunch of events in
various_traits_events that has the potential, but I don't think these are used. I have at least never seem them trigger.

Also, you only lose the attrition bonus, you keep the other defensive bonuses and the attrition bonus dies when people get military org level 4 (1100ish) anyway. In general, reforming the faith ASAP is a good idea (assuming you aren't planning to go Christian).

Is it possible, when at war, to get a county that is not in the original claim?

For instance, you want to take Scotland but have only the claim on Galloway, you press it. When you won the war, you'll only be granted Galloway, no matter how many counties you have taken. So you fabricate another claim, but that just makes for huge "break truce" penalties going war after war until you have the whole thing. Is that a way to add a claim when already at war?
