Music is quite often, not always, culture specific. So if you want to listen to it more often, you can easily create a mod out of the music DLCs and/or add other songs to play witout the restrictions.

You can also just switch off music in game and play it via a player, like VLC. The music are ogg files, which most mp3 players should play as well.
No. It's a bug. Some post in the Bug forum mentioned it and a dev recognised it. Hopefully gets fixed very soon.

2. Not sure. Should not be possible to have cognatic as a muslim. See: desicions/succession_laws.txt.
Muslims are hard-coded to Agnatic Open succession only, so if you convert to Islam you will indeed have to give up Absolute Cognatic succession.
Is it not possible to play a saved game from the prior patch in the current patch? Every time I load a game it immediately puts me to the Game Over screen though it doesn't indicate anything on the Saved Games list that this is from an out of date patch.
EDIT - Nevermind, I was starting the game from my desktop shortcut rather than from Steam and it wasn't loading RoI though it was clearly checked in the UI.

Nope, you'll be reduced to whatever holdings you have aside from your highest. Minus a county if your brother isn't landed.
When you are playing a character you always play that character until he a) dies; or b) loses all his titles above baron-level.
I don't have Sons of Abraham and a Jewish preacher has just shown up in my Pagan court. If I convert to Judaism without having Sons of Abraham, will I be able to continue playing or will it insta game over?

I just read in the loading screen that having Jewish counselors sometimes helps with tech. How does that work exactly? By just inviting them to your court and having them in the council or do they need to be given the specif missions?
Jewish Chancellor, Steward and Spymaster can bring you 50 tech points here and there, provided you are not jewish ruler.
Just appoint them as your councillors, they dont have to do a specific job.

His primary holding was a city when you granted him the other titles, this creates a republic with the selected character installed as the initial leader.
Quick question on adventurers, why can I not do legally imprison a courtier in my realm that announced he was going to invade me? Is that not straight up treason? Yet I get the tyrant penalty for arresting him. (and my little kingdom was way to small to fight off an adventurer sized army, so I didn't have any choice since my plots to kill him failed)
I sorta think something is fishy/buggy about that as I then got the "Sir invadesalot(not his real name) is setting off to claim his own realm" , and your only response is "well good luck with that". Except it was ME he was invading heh.
