Been a while, but I can't recall Grandsons of the inheriting son getting strong claims on all Empire and Kingdom tier titles before. What's the deal?
Related to this, under primogeniture, has anyone had a great-grandson inherit? Is it possible? (It used to be that the game recognised him as a mere kinsman, and that your titles would go to one of your closer heirs).
1. My mother has a weak claim on the Kingdom of Lotharinga and I killed the current King of Loth. the new King is 3m and thus it is a regency, why cant I press my mothers claim ? Im a female ruler if that is of importance.
2. Incase my mother would be crowned Queen. She has only my sister and me as children and is celibate. Both of us have two Kingdoms. Who would inherit?
3. Can I see genderlaws of another Kingdom somehow ?

1. Does Lotharingia have agnatic succession?
2. The eldest, provided the Kingdom is Gavelkind or Primogeniture.
3. Go to the King/Queen's page, go to the icon for the Kingdom underneath their portrait, and it'll tell you their succession law.
Ah. Ok its agnatic. Thanks!
Can I change it?![]()
Not unless you have the title yourself. Though from what I find the AI tends to switch from agnatic to agnatic-cognatic if they can. But I may be wrong about that.
What dictates if I can start a Subjugation war in India? I can attack some Indian leaders, but there are other Indian that I can't attack. I can't figure out why this is.
I stopped playing just before RoI when a bug made my savegames crash, so figured I'd just wait and actually play the myriad of other games I've got on tap and have been ignoring during the meantime when I heard about the upcoming DLC needing me to start over anyhow. Now, onto my question!
Am I simply mis-remembering things or did the diplomacy map view use to have the actual opinion of the vassal ruler of that county pop up conveniently when you hovered over it? Or did I just do this via the relative color of green or is there something else I've forgotten in the meantime?
It's been seriously bugging me like crazy to where I just keep stopping playing in my uncontrollable neurosis over it. At first I figured it was a bug, yet I haven't seen anyone else say or report it at any point since the RoI release - so now I'm not sure if it just got buried by other bug reports or if my memory is playing tricks on me :\ Not that hard to work around at any rate, just a minor thing that I've been horribly fixated on each time I've started it up, so I need a quick sanity check that's not worth starting a thread over.
And if it is a mis-remembering, please tell me there's a mod that adds it in that I can dig up if nothing else, as I'm seriously fixated on this issue as causing needless mouse clicks etc to a sickening/worrying degree at this point or even an edit I can make myself. Thanks for any help to my sanity!
Are you looking for the Opinion mapmode (which shows personal opinion scores)? It's different (and always has been) from the "Diplomacy" mapmode (which shows your CBs and alliances)
Yup, that's the opinion map mode.
2nd row, third i believe. The bubble.
Had to start up the game to check. Never used it, but maybe i should. Helpfull for huge realms.
Thanks for the inspiration.![]()

Oh, it's something I'm a bit too obviously addicted to using. I'd get to the 'send my councilors to do something' section of starting a new game and look to see whom I need to groom towards a more positive opinion of my magnificence and it went from being 'quick glance at the map' to 'start clicking on everyone to see who this would be best for' then I'd just get distracted by it all seeming to take so much more effort and I'd fall apart in distraction like an itch I couldn't figure out how to scratch without 7 times more effort than I was used to. It's a great and easy to use time-saving and informative mode to glance at now and again for managing things, imo.
I get caught in micromanagment as well.
For bad mood vassals i just check the vassals tab and arrange it by opinion.
Far quicker in situations like inheritance or rebellions and only shows direct vassals.
On the other hand the map mode is nice for checking in between if everything's alright in general, especially when one has a bigger empire i suppose.
Looks nice too. Yes i should and will use it more often from now on.
Do we know when the next version of the patch will be out? My games are still unplayable atm.
