I agree that it *should* work as you describe. However, AFAIK, the only way to get a demon child of your dynasty from the satanists is to be a female grandmaster, impregnate yourself, and legitimise the child when it is born.

(You can also get a demon child via a very rare random event. I think that that kind of demon child has its parents set up correctly, so it will still be of your dynasty even if you are a male ruler.)
This is working as designed. It's a tradeoff - doing it as the Satanist mission is a reliable way to create a demon child, but the father will always be flagged as "unknown". The random, 500 year mean-time-to-happen event picks one of your kids under 3 to be the demon child, so they retain their overt dynasty.

On the other hand, being a demon worshipper DOES increase the chance of this event firing (25% of normal), as do certain traits such as Impaler, Possessed, Cruel and a few others that Demon Worshippers DO tend to pick up. It can be brought down to a MTTH that has a decent chance of happening within the lifetime of a given ruler; although make sure you have a string of young kids as it can't fire without a 0-2 year old. Bastards are fine, and in fact may be best, as you can legitimize the one you want if you're trying for an heir - another reason to do so is that an illegitimate demon child WILL target all other siblings, not just older ones. If you want to fully protect siblings from their murderous rampage, grant the little devil some land.

Yes, it is probably working as designed - but I disagree with the design for two reasons: (i) it doesn't seem realistic for role-play purposes; (ii) it isn't consistent with the way bastards are handled in the rest of the game.

Role-play: Your (male) character and the impregnated woman are both Satanists, and are probably trying to hide this fact from the world. If I was in that situation, I would not go around proclaiming publicly that this child's father is Satan himself. No, I'd keep quiet in public and pretend it was our natural-born child - especially if the woman was my wife/concubine. In private, our fellow Satanists would know the truth, and that's all that matters.

Consistency: When your wife has a child by another man (and you find out), you get to choose either to denounce the child or to pretend it's yours. This situation is very similar IMO, so you should IMO get the same choice. (Of course, the child's (hidden) real father would be "unknown" (ie. Satan) no matter what you chose.)

It's a fair opinion. The legitimacy mechanics are generally a bit of a mess in any case. Being informed every single time that you are the father of your lover's baby is highly unrealistic if other people are involved. Conception just isn't that precise unless nobody's getting much (in which case it's going to be extra hard to convince the husband he's the father...)

A better approach would be to have a percentage chance of the mother knowing which of her lovers was the father (100% if she only has one partner, dropping rapidly for each extra one), and a chance of her getting it wrong (0% for only one partner, rising for each partner), with a fair chance of uncertainty in most multiple lover situations.

My lover has just informed me she is with child. Is it mine?

...and then there's the issue of visual distinction when the father is significantly different looking to the other candidates. Which might be as ambiguous as hair colour or as reliable as skin colour. (although outside of Northern Europe, the reverse may apply. The Abbasid Caliph may be furious about the blonde baby his Egyptian wife presented him with, but not notice a lighter skin tone...)

Or demon horns :)

The DLC is listed on steam, but not the my account on paradox website.
You do have it in your icons, though.

Hi. I have two questions on Nomad settling as Tribal;

1. Do I completely loose everything on my nomadic capital? All the technology and upgrades? No way to save anything?

2. Is there any formula determining size of event troop for settling? Is it based on current/max population? Man power? Horde size?

Thanks.

Quick question! :D
I'm King of XXX, and through marriage ties I had NAPs with King of AAA and King of BBB.
I upgrade both NAPs to full Alliances.
AAA and BBB are NOT allied, actually they dislike each other a lot and go to war.
What happens to my two alliances?
- can I be called to war by AAA against BBB or not?

If yes:
- can I say NO without losing prestige?
- can I say YES without being labeled as a traitor to BBB?
- does it work on a "first calling, priority" basis?

Thanx in advance!

1. Do I completely loose everything on my nomadic capital? All the technology and upgrades? No way to save anything?

Yes, you lose everything. If you have a lot of land and have invested a lot into your nomad capital, you'll probably be much more powerful if you stay nomadic than if you settle - even after several centuries. IMO, settling as a nomad is just a role-play thing.

There is supposedly a way to get a nomad holding in your capital county, via some sort of exploit/bug. But I think you get that by pressing a claim on a clan; I don't think it's possible to use a similar exploit to keep your own capital through the settlement process.

2. Is there any formula determining size of event troop for settling? Is it based on current/max population? Man power? Horde size?

It's based on population. I'm not sure if it's current or max, but I suspect it's current.

Ok, got it. What happens to my alliance with BBB when the war ends, in the event I answered yes to AAA's call to arms? Will I and BBB still be allies?
Nope, but they should accept any such proposals.

Sometimes I believe it's specific baronies within the counties, so if you start in an earlier start date they may not exist. If an AI has sieged it and got the artifact they may still have it which gives a chance for you to find it, you can use the character finder to actually search for who has which artifacts which is a very useful feature IMO

But, if you spot that they've gone to war, you can offer to join the war on whichever side you prefer (rather than waiting for one of them to call you in).
Good to know that. Unless under very specific conditions, I generally am for the "divide, impera and maintain the status quo" approach (AKA "there can be only one fat cat in Europe and that's me!" :D), so knowing that I can pre-emptively side with the defender in order to keep things as they are (and as they fit my plans) is absolutely helpful, thanx!

Sometimes I believe it's specific baronies within the counties, so if you start in an earlier start date they may not exist. If an AI has sieged it and got the artifact they may still have it which gives a chance for you to find it, you can use the character finder to actually search for who has which artifacts which is a very useful feature IMO
I started with the 1066 bookmark so I suppose those baronies exist? I fully occupied the two provinces but still got nothing. Caracter finder didnt show any results aswell
