A few questions here, apologies for the long post. Major missing DLCs in my context are Conclave (I like education and the council the way they are) and Holy Fury (I'll just wait for the bugs to get fixed, thanks!). I also don't have Horse Lords, but I don't think that matters for my questions. I have the other "major" DLCs, such as WoL, Charlemagne, and Jade Dragon.

1) Has the search function in this forum changed? It seems like search queries that should absolutely always return results are only returning relatively recent/limited results. Question #2, for example, is one that I'm sure I should have been able to search this forum for, but I found nothing relevant. If my questions are already thoroughly answered in some previous thread (or post within this thread, because my searching is failing here as well!), please feel free to just link me to the response, and I will bookmark it for future reference. :)

2) This is a crown authority/investiture question, I do not have Conclave. If I am the Emperor of the HRE (High Crown Authority/Free Investiture), and I usurp a Kingdom Title such as Bohemia (Antonymous Vassals/Papal Investiture), then destroy that title, will the crown authority/investiture settings on De Jure Bohemia lands under HRE control default to the HRE's, or remain what Bohemia's were?

3) Same context has #2. If a Viceroyalty under my Emperor of the HRE returns to me after the Viceroy's death, and the Kingdom in question was within the De Jure HRE, shouldn't the crown authority/investiture/inheritance settings match those of the HRE? It seems that the Viceroys can change (usually for the worse/lower) the crown authority during their reigns, which I suppose is ok, but why would those settings not return to those of the HRE once the title reverts back to me, the Emperor? It's frustrating to keep taking the hits for raising crown authority/changing inheritance to ensure that I don't lose a title during those post-Viceroy vassal "cleanup" periods, where I take down overpowered and/or foreign Duchy/County vassals within my realm, when from my reading of the Wiki it appears that the De Jure Empire's laws should still apply. What am I missing?

4) I stupidly let the Pope beat me to Acre during the 1st Crusade, and he recovered the Holy Grail as a result. The Pope is now my vassal within the HRE, and has his default Papal States (plus one territory in Jerusalem for vassal army transport purposes) in Italy. How do I get the Holy Grail from him? I think I know one way, but am curious about a potential alternative path. If I grant the Pope independence, nominate an antipope, and press his claim, I should have a chance of gaining the Holy Grail when I siege down Rome during the resulting war, as I understand it. Low probability, but straightforward enough. The second path that I can only find vague references to is via Monastic Societies. There is apparently a way to steal some Christian artifacts (such as the Seamless Robe of Jesus) via event. I'm quite happy Opus farming in the Hermetic Society, and still hope to get some sweet tech (handgun, etc.), so I don't want to switch a character away from all those bonuses without a thorough understanding of how to execute my artifact hunting plan. This leads me to several related sub-questions:

4a) Which societies does this apply to? Benedictine and Dominican, or just one of those two?
4b) Does this event apply to the Holy Grail? If not, which artifacts does it apply to?
4c) How likely is this event to fire, and at what level within the society does my character need to be for it to occur? I'm assuming it targets a random artifact of the appropriate type.
4d) What traits/attributes are most likely to ensure success during the event, should it fire?

Any help with any these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading, those of you who made it this far. :)

regarding your holy grail issue I dont know if you can steal it via the society Event, so I' say you have to grant him idependance and then Loot it.
I would probably try to switch to a pagan religon and unlock raiding (for higher looting Chance and that way you wouldnt need to fight a war) and Raid rome until you get it, and then reconvert to Catholic faith.
Oh and I dont know if you can Loot equiped items, so far I couldnt Loot the Lombardy crown from the pope:(

1) Has the search function in this forum changed?
There had been a maintenance including fixing the search engine, which only showed very recent posts or results older than 2015.
Re-Indexing seems to take a while.

2) .. then destroy that title, will the crown authority/investiture settings

The title will have the CA the highest title had on recreation. The de jure land will have the CA of the next highest de jure title, here your HRE.

Thank you for both of these responses. I have one follow-up question on your response to #2.

"...had on recreation." Does this mean that I need to destroy, then re-create the title, at which point that newly created title will have my HRE CA level? Also, since Bohemia is not De Jure part of the HRE (made by decision - de jure Kingdoms of Italy, Aquitaine, and Empire of Britannia), does that mean that my HRE title would not be the "highest de jure title" of the land within De Jure Bohemia, and therefore I must re-create the Kingdom of Bohemia to enforce the HRE CA on those lands? I was hoping to consolidate down some of my Kingdom titles as I expand, since some usurped Kingdoms like Saxony and Pomerania are severely underpowered compared to Sasana and France, for examples. If I need to re-create Bohemia to get the HRE CA settings enforced within those lands, then either I have to take on the "destroyed title" malus twice, or just live with that Kingdom title existing perpetually. Am I understanding you correctly here?

"has on.." would have been correct, sorry.. I don't know if you "need to".

Also, since Bohemia is not De Jure part of the HRE..

If no higher dejure title exists, then it falls back to the current highest ruling title over it, as far as i recall in my sunday mood and foggy head.
Err..reading all...Britannia..? What ?
If Bohemia is de jure Britannia, then the CA of Britannia applies.

edit:
Sorry but your info was and is confusing me and you don't state your aim.
IF you are emperor of Britannia, second empire title HRE and Bohemia doesn't exist, while not
de jure HRE nor Britannia and the de jure empire for Bohemia doesn't exist either, then Britannia CA
applies. I hope that answers all questions.

Sorry, let me try to clarify. I was Emperor of Britannia, added Aquitaine and Italy to my holdings, and then formed the HRE by decision, at which point those Kingdoms all became De Jure HRE. All other kingdoms I have expanded through are not de jure HRE, such as Bohemia. I thought I was clarifying why Bohemia was not a part of De Jure HRE in my scenario, as it was a custom HRE by decision as opposed to, say, the 1066 start with a more "normal" HRE de jure boundary.

You did answer my question - if I destroy the Kingdom title, without anyone else holding the de jure empire title above it, Bohemia should then default to my HRE CA. Thanks!

I had a character with the bloodline of Caradog. I got the bloodline of Alexander event, and it somehow erased my existing bloodline. Then didn't give me Alexander's after I spent 10000 prestige to spread the word. Is this a bug, or can I only have one such bloodline?

I have read about changing dynasty in ironman games, how do I achieve that without messing with game Data?
Why do you want to?

As far as I know, the only way to change dynasties in an ironman game is to be the child of a matrilineal marriage between a male bastard of your dynasty and a female member of your dynasty. Kill off your mother and let your father remarry and you will join his new dynasty.

Can the AI (especially your vassals) create titular duchies? I have a couple of effectively-but-not-actually kingdom titles I want to destroy, but their de jure duchies are all titular.
They usually won't create titular titles except for the "form a kingdom" and similar decisions, unless they absolutely need to make the title for some reason, like being King of England and making that titular title for that island in between England and Ireland.

As a Byzantine Emperor, I've conquered most of the Levant in a blitzkrieg against the Abbasids. I've a spare demesne slot, and I want to grab one of the Silk Road counties. Which one should I take Jaffa, or Jerusalem? Jaffa has the coastal bonust, but only has 4 slots. Jerusalem is land-locked, but has 5 slots.

I already have Antiocheia, and the rest of my demesne is on Thrace and the Latium.

Depends what you want. Troops then Jerusalem for castles, money then Jaffa for towns, as costal counties have the harbor buidlings giving additional tax,
which should make more than up for that one less slot, ...so i'd think late at night.

What counts as a foe for duels? Rivals are listed separately, and you can't duel somebody you're at war with. So what is a foe?
Foes also include any character who has committed a crime against you (or more specifically, where you hold an opinion about them that has "crime = yes", such as "Divorced Me" or "Grievously Offended")

I know but I dont get it how this is not a game over and how he kept the dynasty Name

Oh right. I see.
I recall having read it to be possible somehow, probably a glitch to change characters at start, but don't remember how and that was before patch 3.0,
but i can also imagine that either there is no game over anymore if it's a close relative or bloodline related or something.
Sorry.
