They're in CET too. I don't know why they launch games in mid afternoon, but I guess I'm not really sure what's so weird about it either.
Like I just edited, I'm now even more confused. Does this game release on Monday or Tuesday? Because 15:00 CET is 00:00 on the International Date Line. So if they're releasing on Tuesday 13th 00:00 of International Date Line that would be Monday 15:00 CET. And if it releases Tuesday 15:00 CET then the game actually releases on Wednesday 14th 00:00 IDL.

15:00 CET (which is right about now at the moment I'm writing this) is 00:00 in NorthEastern Australia, not the IDL.

I know about that table, but I have no idea how to properly read it. Take this for example:

Past five generations is 2+4+8+16+32 people. Assume brother/sister marriage, no incest before that. They would have the same parents, who wouldn't share any parents or anything above it. That means you have 2 unique grandparents (rather than 4), 4 greatgrandparents (rather than 8), etc, for 2+2+4+8+16=32 unique ancestors in those 5 generations, which would mean 0-10% chance of inbreeding. But I can hardly believe that's the case.

I'm currently on an ironman savegame I want too keep and finish some achievements (maybe world conquest) on. I have 16 ironman/achievement compatible (steam-workshop) mods.

What can I do to continue that ironman game after HF release (and still gain achievemnts)?

What I already did:
- changed ck2 steam update settings to only update the game on start (so I can switch to the old/current game version on tuesday before it Updates)
- I create a copy of the Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\save games\.ck2 file on monday evening to be able to recover the save if something messes up. (Does that work for achievements?)

- How about my 16 mods? I couldn't figure that out. To save these current mod versions, do I have to make a copy of Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod and unsubscribe from every steam workshop mod?

Anything else I need todo to continue with the current ck2 version after HF release?

Sorry for these dumb questions, but I really want to be 100% sure that I can continue my current game without issues after HF release.

I don't know either, but i'd assume the unique ancestors is in regard to distance to the same parent and that would be 0 or 1 in your case, so 100%,
but Paradox sometimes works in mysterious ways, so....

If you ask for modding reasons, then ask in the modding quick questions thread.

Why do you want to? They can't use it to press a claim on your lands. The only reason to do so would be if you want a trade post there instead. If you engage in a campaign of murder on the offending house, you typically have a 1 in 5 chance to get the trade post you want.
I have a slight case of OCD and want to own every trade post in the seazones I choose to "own".

How exactly does that murder campaign thing work? Do I have to make a rival family go extinct or what's the trigger for the redistribution?

Just kill off the family.

How likely is it for a child to be inbred in brother-sister or parent-child marriages?
In a parent-child marriage, consider it to be 3 unique ancestors removed. That right there is immediately a 25% shot of getting the trait. Marrying siblings together is slightly less dangerous, since you're only subtracting two, in the case of a seperate wife/concubine only losing one ancestor. So, that would be only the 2% chance.

Alright, so I should expect some 25% from parent-child and some 10% from brother-sister? Thanks.

I guess then that it only actually gets really bad/ck2 if you have several incest marriages in a row?

Pretty much. You can get away with a sibling marriage once, and be relatively okay.

Has this been changed? I thought it was how similar the characters dna numbers were to each other, as I remember in an older version I found an extremely rare case of an inbred trait person with no shared ancestors (I think so anyway)

To murder campaignTM, find the head of the family you want to do away with, and kill him and all his male relatives. If you want to be merciful, you can grant some of his male relatives castles and churches.

The big problem with murder campaigns is that you don't know which trade posts you are going to get. You might get the one you want right away, or it might never happen. To clear up the issue in 1 fell swoop, you can do as follows:

1. make sure the rival family does not own any counties where you want to have trade posts
2. Grant them a duchy that is not de jure under your kingdom or empire
3. Grant them independence.

Now any trade posts in counties your republic owns will be destroyed. Any in counties neither of you own will be available for conquest. Or, if you are a raiding culture, you can destroy their trade posts by raiding the county containing them.

As Doge in a merchant republic, can you grant independence to a landed patrician? If you can this seems like a horrible thing to do to them (should probably not be allowed).

You know, I haven't actually tested that. I do know you can grant independence to regular republic duchies to get rivals (I did it at least 3 times in a single game), and that patricians can join independence factions, but I'm not sure that I could grant them independence voluntarily. I should probably test that and amend my previous post.

Yeah, in my current game one of the patricians is really strong and granting him independence could really screw him over. Also, if their ducal capital is coastal would they remain a MR and keep their trade posts, or lose the posts and form a new MR?

What happens if you declare independence from within a Merchant Republic. Is it game over or will you become a competing MR? Will all your trade posts carry over?
