How do you change betrothals into marriages without waiting for AI to propose?

I have two courtiers that I betrothed to each other when they were kids. Both are adults now but still stuck on betrothal. Same with some courtiers with betrothed partners in other courts. It seems I can't initiate a marriage without first breaking the betrothal and incurring neg opinions.

what is the default rule for interfaith marriage? it is supposed to be no-no unless you are part of same religion group right?
so it just happens that an orthodox basileus agree to marry his son to my muslim daughter, i said why not and hit the button

I think that it is Muslims that generally outright refuse interfaith marriages.

Check his son's religion. If it's not the same the AI is morely lenient with that interfaith marriage rule.

I have read elsewhere in this forum about people inviting characters of other religions to your court. Playing as Catholic - Feudal - in Europe the only people of other religions who ever show up in my court are Jews. Otherwise I cannot invite , seduce , or marry anyone outside of Catholic . Even characters of other religions that I capture in war cannot be converted to my faith in the dungeon. Is there some DLC that allows this ? Or some trick ?

Conclave is the best DLC for acquiring people of other faiths. Otherwise prisoners, really.

I have not yet encountered the Sun set Invasion, but I saw Screenshots of atztec emperor wich sunny/Catholic faith, how does this happen? Can I take advantage of this and marry my sons to theirs? Or are they always hostile? What if I turn into a vassal?

Like with any other pagan faith, organized faiths like Catholicism or Sunni Islam can send missionaries to them. Sometimes they stick, and it's not uncommon to see Aztecs go Christian at some point. Pagans are more likely to convert after the year 1000 and if they're not Zealous. Traits like Cynical and Arbitrary can improve the odds of them accepting.

  1. Can I mend the schism as Iconoclast (instead of Orthodox)?
  2. Any way to bring ships from the Mediterranean across the Sinai into the Red Sea? I wanna battle some Persians and Indians but the walking there by land from Europe seems next to impossible. Can I somehow spawn hired cogs on the other side of the Sinai? My capital is Constantinople and I dont have any holdings on the other side.

Are trade posts on the Silk Road limited to a size 1 trade zone?

I control 2 trade posts, one going into the other over sea and both have a trade zone size of 1; the Mongol emperor controls 2 trade posts over land, including personally holding all the provinces between them, and both also show a trade zone of size 1.

How do Peasant revolts, Religious uprisings, Heretic uprisings and Liberation revolts interact with claims? Am I supposed to get a claim on all titles claimed by the victorious rebel leader?

I was playing a wwsms mod game (with a minor custom sub-mod) and a heretical uprisings claimed 2 of my provinces. I only got a claim on one of those provinces,a strong claim on the county they had not occupied while I received no claim on the other. Previously in the game either a liberation revolt or a religious revolt claimed another 2 provinces, one held by me and one by my vassal, and I received no claims.

Is this working as intended or a bug, perhaps a vanilla bug or a bug from the mods I am using? Honestly I don't find this fair, so I am giving my self a strong claim I lose to these damn peasants by cheating. Whether I'll be able to press those claims is another matter, as yes, things are not going well, within a span of a few decades I have gone from a 7 county realm to a 2 county realm (lost another province to invading Angles). Ironically my current character is nicknamed 'the Victorious' (he personally lost 3 counties and his father lost 2).

I'm reasonably sure that only merchant republic families can create multi-province trade zones.

1. How compatible are old saves and new DLCs? Most threads on the matter stress the importance of the patch level, however it's a non-issue for me: I have an old 2.8.1 save, and I'd like to play it with Jade Dragon and some cosmetic DLCs I purchased after starting that game. Would I risk breaking the save or disabling the achievements by activating the DLCs, and maybe changing the game rules to allow for JD CB?

2. Were secret cults toned down between 2.8.1 and today? I wonder if I should turn them off in my new game since in the previously mentioned save almost everyone in my empire was a secret Mazdaki.

3. Is there a reliable source for checking the history of game prices? I'm tempted to purchase a DLC on Steam, but I'm under the impression that I've seen it previously for a lower price, perhaps during the last Black Friday sale.

1) Any patch with a map change will break saves. Most patches other than a.b.x->a.b.y situations will break saves. To my knowledge, enabling a DLC after starting a game will either break the save, cause the DLC to be ignored, or both

2) Don't remember when 2.8.1 was but I do remember patch notes about them being toned down

3) no idea
