Following on from my question on the previous page...

When I retook the county that my duke liege taken from me (without me having the opportunity to resist), he instantly took the county of the other vassal count in the duchy as his own.

So what is going on here? If a duke has no counties in his duchy, he is able to immediately seize the county of a vassal of his without their consent and without opportunity to resist?

This would have the potential to instantly end one's game? If I had not had a second county, it would have been game over for me when the duke seized my primary county, and there would have been nothing I could do about it.

I'm playing with half-demesne rules, which may make such episodes more likely to happen.

To my knowledge: Yes. If the holder of a Duchal or Kingdom title loses all their holdings (i.e. county- or barony-level titles) they will usurp one within the de jure area of their title.

I'm 80% sure that the game is set to not do this to players unless there is absolutely no other choice, so it's very unlikely to happen unless you're in a completely disintegrating realm.

I remember reading somewhere that your ruler's wife's stats add to your stats (or realms stats or something). An Islamic ruler can have 4 wives. Do stats of all 4 wives give you a bonus or just the First Wife?

Made my own thread but this seems to get fast replies so ill leave it here too.

Playing as a Greek Duke sworn to the Byzantine Empire; my brother led a faction to make himself the Despot of Africa; his daughter remained at my court. I forced her to take the vows and become a nun so that she couldn't inherit (leaving me his sole heir). A couple years later, I noticed that she was no longer a nun and was going to inherit his title.

I'm playing on Ironman so I dont think I forgot to save and ended up loading an old save, but im quite paranoid so i wanna be sure; is it possible for a courtier to break their vow and stop being a monk/nun?

If I leave Lucifers Own, will I be killed?
The actual answer is, probably.

Courtiers shouldn't be able to do that, no. It's possible that you didn't save properly and got rolled back. As far as I'm aware, the monk/nun traits will never go away.

Someone actually told me that if courtiers convert religion they break their vow. The Patriarch is trying to convert me back to Orthodox so chances are she was converted.

Is it as intended to see characters have negative plot power when setting up a plot? I mean I can imagine that getting some idiot blabbermouth in on your plan would do more harm than good but didn't expect the game to actually model it this way. Or is that a bug?

Every now and then, a vassal of my realms me sends me a request to deal with an assassination attempt, and I'm usually left with the choice of a) Granting him a claim on a title b) Ignoring him. Rarely, I'm given the option of imprison another vassal.

I always choose to ignore the whiny vassal, because there's no way that I'm grating anyone a title or claim from nowhere. When the same vassal ask the same thing several times, I usually make my own plot to kill him (same when they ask for a county, or for land for their sons). But, what exactly is causing those messages to appear?

It will be an event somewhere, probably triggered for Ambitious or maybe even Proud characters. You can search for it in the /events folder and then edit it's chance of appearing and or the modifiers for traits etc, or even disable it altogether. Alternatively you can ask whiny landless courtiers to leave, or imprison and or revoke titles from landed ones.

Any benefit in joining Lucifer's Own group?

I joined as an Islamic emperor and he got badly fucked up. I didnt see anything positive come out of it, only negative opinions and traits, possessed, suspicious, demon worshiper, mangled, etc. Only useful thing was the ability to send thugs or some shit to assassinate people.

Is there a specific strategy to play as Lucifer's Own?

I don't know much about the strategy, but as for the benefits, if I recall correctly, you can heal injuries, gain extra health, easily get rid of unwanted heirs, or get a divorce.

^ That.

Most of the "soul corruption" events are tied to using your powers too much. So, if you repeatedly try to abduct people, for example, you will randomly get negative traits. If you actually use your powers too often that draws suspicion, especially when you try the dark divorce and healing actions.

I dont think you have to use the powers to get your soul corrupted. Those events like songs of anguish and making mayhem on the countryside can cause soul corruption too, I believe.
