There is no such option :/
You can't change the holding type as far as I'm aware, short of having it raided by nomads, and burnt to the ground.

Do you actually own the castle or is it held by a vassal of yours ?..assuming of course that the temple is also held by you.

If you own a castle in the province and are feudal the castle should automatically become the primary holding of the province.

Bingo! Thanks, that was the reason.

Now I have entirely different question. My monarch had only 4 daughters no sons (lol) and one of them has very good stats so I decided I actually wanna play as her. I have never before played as female queen.

Who should I marry in this scenario? As an independent queen in matrilinear marriage? If I marry some guy with titles, will I get claims?

You'll need to get a matrilinial marriage, otherwise your children will be of a different dynasty and you'll get a game over. Alternately, you can use Elective, Seniority, or some other succession law that won't go to your children. The easiest way to get a matrilinial marriage is to invite the person to your court, then marry them. As your courtier, they won't be able to say no. Of course, that won't work on landed characters.

You won't get any claims on your husbands titles, same as a husband doesn't get claims on his wife's titles. Instead, your children will get those claims.

By the way how often decent players in this game end up marrying characters to low tier characters with high stats and end up taking prestige hits? I do this often and I somewhat feel I am playing wrong :p

All the time. I like stewardship wives. Yeah, it feels from if you want to play more historically, but depending where you are you don't have to play the marriage game to get ahead

Prestige is less valuable than the game makes it out to be. You need to have 50 or 100 to unlock certain basic options like revoking titles, 400 to be able to break a truce, and at 2000 you max out the opinion benefit (you get +1 opinion from everyone for every 200 prestige you have).

If your rank is high enough that you get a significant prestige hit, then you're getting enough prestige every month to absorb the hit without much trouble.

Whats the difference between holy war and a crusade? or it's just the same but on a different scale?
Holy wars can be declared by anyone adjacent to another "wrong religion" character over control of a specific duchy. If you win, you take all titles within that duchy.

A crusade is similar, except that it's declared by the head of religion over a specific KINGDOM title. Generally, a lot of the religion will try to join if not occupied at home. Whoever contributes the most war score to the attacking side (currently at least) gets the entire targeted kingdom if they win.

Besides killing her, how can I stop my wife from pressing me into make random nobodies council members?

Also, how can I succesfully complete the "Observe sky" mission from the hermetics? (I hate that mission. Rewards are pitiful and you get a lot of maluses along the way)

1. You don't.
2. Gather ingredients, you can bypass most of the negatives by burning ingredients.

Just ignore the wife. It's not like her opinion matters much in the grand scheme of things.

As mentioned, you can burn ingredients. Alternatively you can refuse to accept the quest and write more theorem papers instead.

1) When playing as matrilinear queen, can my husband be spymaster? Will he be Loyalist in Council?
2) I have three duchies, I wanna give one of them, why can I give to some vassals but no to others?
3) IIRC, Rus (but not Ruthenia) starts feudal, not tribal. Yet i50 years passed since 1066 and both Rus and Ruthenia are completely tribal. How is it possible to revert from feudalism to tribalism?

1. Yes, but men can already be spymaster. Also, like having your wife as spymaster, you only get his full intrigue instead of half spouse intrigue + full spymaster intrigue, so you'll likely end up with lower stats than if you had a separate spymaster.
2. Does the person you are trying to give it to own a county? If not, you'll need to give them a county first
3. The only way I can think of is if they were conquered by a nomadic horde, had their holdings destroyed, then the horde settled down as tribal.

Novgorod starts feudal but if they get conquered by one of the others (and they all start with claims...)

Is it any benefits to be head of reformed pagans? or it's like the pope?
Head of a reformation means you get to decide the crusade (read, great holy war target) target. So, it's like being the pope, but you actually get to play as him.

It's most similar to playing as the Muslim Caliph, but no decadence to worry about.
