Having your dynasty holding every holding is a great way to have counts and dukes inherit baronies in unrelated counties and thereby lose all your de jure barons.

That can be avoided by personally holding every castle in one's counties.

Isn't that a modifier you get for not blaming the plague on the Jews?
Could be. I think I did not blame the JarJars. It was not the Black Plague though, just some minor disease or bad event. Wow, but that is harsh!

There's no real reason she has to be unlanded. Landed women aren't likely to want to marry you in a regular marriage when you aren't powerful, but in that case they won't show up in the list of marriage candidates anyway.

I am playing a Han Taoist ruler of the Kingdom of Xia and currently have a nasty modifier in most of my provinces:
"Furious Peasants: Local Revolt Risk +10%, Local Tax Modifier -100%"

Does anyone know how what triggers this modifier? Because I cannot remember how, suddenly my income dropped from over 21 to just over 7 gold per month (thankfully I have a silk road trade post).
Could be. I think I did not blame the JarJars. It was not the Black Plague though, just some minor disease or bad event. Wow, but that is harsh!

I got it from not blaming the cats while in secluision. But only in one province.

Does anyone know how what triggers this modifier?.

A quick look suggests it can happen for several reasons.

Hi there, would you please give me a hint:
I am an irish, catholic Chief in the year of 788.
Playing as the father of this character I fought and won 2 irish provinces. As soon the son took over, he losts these 2 provinces.
How can I avoid this? Because otherwise it is no fun at all and I never can be the ruler of whole Ireland. By the way: agnatic-cognatic Gavelkind is active.
My questions is: how can I avoid to loose all 'work' / new provinces when I get to the next character?
Thank you!.

Under Gavelkind your titles will be distributed among all eligible heirs (sons in your example). So if you have several title of similar level (like Counties in your example) they will get distributed and get independence (count cannot be vassal of count, duke cannot be vassal of duke and so on). Therefore first point: try to stay with only ONE high level title - Duchy or better Kingdom.
Here crucial point - as a count you better get your first duchy as your first ruler (even better - become a King using become a king ambition should be a bit easier - at least cheaper)
Second point: under gavelkind have the least amount of eligible sons you can. Grant them bishoprics, order to take vows, make them dead leading armies etc. The less sons you have - the less will be the split. Your 'main' heir will get strong claims on siblings title - so you can reconquer your lands quite fast after succession.
Last and third point: go away from gavelkind asap. Hoard culture points to get to legalism 3, push tribal authority (I assume you are tribal), go feudal and adopt primogeniture. It will take several generations tho, so prepare for several succession crisis's under gavelkind anyways. And pray to your God you are not limited to Elective Gavelkind as those filthy pagans nearby (you can read wiki on it for horror story).

Regarding fun and all that - believe me, all that succession troubles with gavelkind IS fun of this game. There is a lot of other 'fun', but most of it comes from challenges and you being screwed up with game rules.
And from some point after getting your stable primo you will remember gavelkind times with love and fondness.

Hi all. I just started playing the game in the last week or so, and I've been having a lot of fun. It's a very immersive experience, so much so that I've become attached to a lot of characters. My friend assures me this is normal, haha. But I'm having a problem locating one character in particular. His name was Giza, and he was awesome. Saved one of my favorite player characters from dying young without an heir, which would have ended a game that has now gone on for nearly one hundred and forty years. On top of that, he was probably one of the best Marshals I ever had.

He lived some time between 770 and 800 or so. Current year is 900, so he's long gone. I'd just like to know if there is a way for me to find deceased characters not related to anyone? Or do those characters disappear from the game without a trace? Thanks in advance for any answers :)

If you like someone - give them county title - you will always be able to check on them in title history. And that is also immersion - if you as a king love your marshal, why not give him that freshly conquered from infidels land?
I always try to give title to good commanders as a reward for serving me. If they can have children who share the same qualities, my realm will have longterm benefits.
