Year 775. I just got the duchy of Galicia. My long term goals are to unite the Iberian peninsula under one ruler. I would like to know the following:

  1. Should I focus on building economic buildings or military buildings at first.
  2. Should I build baronies in my empty slots or build cities?
  3. Should I try to holy war under the Asturian King and work under him, or declare myself independent quickly?
  4. Should I wait for Crusades to get help in Iberia?
I haven't played in like three years and I got all the dlc except JD. I don't want to WC. I'm happy with uniting Iberia, I'm happy with taking my time. After I unite Iberia, I want to colonize Africa and have control of Mediterranean trade

Should I focus on building economic buildings or military buildings at first.
You can build the first one or two levels of money making buildings, but calculate how long it takes to get your investment back. The higher tier ones take a really long time

Should I build baronies in my empty slots or build cities?
Unless you're playing on the silk road you don't really have the money for either at the start. You probably want to save it for mercenaries.
You can build an extra barony or two in your capital county if you have the demesne limit, as that benefits from the capital county levy bonus and the marshal's train troops ability. Elsewhere cities are good for money - not troops.

Some of my armies (models on the map) have lost their helmets, granting me perfect view to their empty heads. How can I fix this bug?

Likely by not using the mod that causes it.

hello there, asking about the call for smith decision:

1. For armor as long as I dont have a plated armor or tier 3 Warden does that suffice for meeting the requirement? Or does this include necklace and bracelets?

2. For weapons do I need to get rid of the ceremonial sword, the actual sword, or both to summon the weaponsmith? I got 2k prestige ready to spend.

3. Can I gift my tier 3 equips to my heir, without fear of them being destroyed? Or since the new patch made it so heirs automatically equip whatever you have equipped at time of death....is there a chance whatever they currently have equipped (hopefully smart enough to choose my tier 3s) will be destroyed when I die, and they inherit my weaker equipment?

4. Far as I can tell there are 7 equip slots: bracelets, neck, ceremonial weapon, actual weapon, scepter, crown, and body armor. Is this right? Cant test them all yet

5. Is there any way for me to check the history of a weapon? I can see the original owner name, but idk who it is since you cant search dead characters. Anything like a mini version of dynasty history? Maybe have it link to the chronicle?

1. The income bonus of economic building is per year, so divided the cost with the income gained to see how many years it will take you to break even and start making the profit. That said, delaying a Castle Town upgrade by a decade set you back 20 gold in the long term. Delaying it by a century sets you back 200 gold. Multiple tiers will have a compound effect.

2. A general rule of thumb is baronies in inland provinces and cities in coastal ones. Which you build first depends on how threatened you are by enemies. Baronies first if you are in danger, cities first if you have time.

3. Holy war until you're big enough to take over the kingdom from within. Start a faction for elective monarchy and then after you get that you start a faction to put yourself on the throne.

4. If you wait for Crusades it may well be too late. Unless you can somehow get them to trigger early.

My Duke has had Camp fever for more than a year.

Before that he had a case of the flu that lasted close to a year.

Earlier in his life he had dysentery that lasted over a year.

He had the flu when he contracted camp fever. Then an outbreak of smallpox hit and he contracted that as well. That is when I said nope and did a reload.

Maybe two of those can be explained because he was stressed and depressed. He is neither right now, so why are diseases lasting so long?

Edit: Just read in the wiki that a smallpox epidemic is supposed to last 8 months. Treviso had one for close to 3 years. Has something screwed my defines or something?

1. I think you have to not own any armor, even if their is a higher tier available. This does not include necklaces or bracelets, just body armor.
3. Yes. Inheritance should only be able to make you lose the items that are being inherited, not items the character already owns.

I did the “borrow 300 gold from the Jews” event. Will my heir be responsible to pay that off when I die?

Short answer; Yes.

Longer answer; Yes. And if he was already landed himself and already borrowed 300 gold from the Jews before inheriting, he'll now have the negative opinion modifier with temple vassals twice (one from himself borrowing and one inherited from you borrowing). You only have to (and are able to) pay the 350 gold back once though, which will get rid of both the modifiers.

Is there some way to tweak the notification options so that I receive notification when one of my councillors dies/resigns, etc?
Press ESC and go to Message Settings, find 'Councillor Lost' and set it to a type of note you wish - should help

Is it possible to form HRE (Charlemagne start, and as Charlemagne himself) and not have the coat of arms change to west francia? (primary kingdom title) As the dynasty coat of arms shows, it makes me want to have that for my empire title as well (the basic HRE coat of arms)
