I got a claim on a county and the game crashed to desktop shortly after. I'd saved just before, so I want to reproduce the claim through console commands, including the associated costs, but I can't remember what they are. What's the Gold/Prestige/Piety cost of a fabricated claim on a county?

EDIT: Never mind, I loaded up an earlier game and left it running until I got the claim again. It was:

158.52 Gold
100 Prestige

So maybe the Gold cost is affected by diplomatic score or something.

I want to arrange a marriage for a spare daughter matrilineally to a guy from another domain. The son, hopefully, they produce will be given a County title. However, the prospective husband is heir to a bishopric. Is this going to complicate things?

Why does the game sometimes offer me to usurp the duchy of one of my vassals? Even during peace time. Neither I nor the vassal in question are at war. Is it because the he does not hold the de jure capital county? He does have all de jure counties under his control though. This happens frequently. Not sure what to make of it.

I'm pretty sure your tech level only applies to your demesne levies. You can open up an army's troop composition and hover over the units to see what bonuses they're getting and what they're from. If they're getting bonuses from tech you'll see a "technology in X" entry. Your vassals' levies benefit from the tech level in your vassals' capitals, not yours.
Thanks. I checked and it does affect your retinue as well.

Does military technology like Heavy Infantry apply to all of my troops including my retinue and my vassals's levies? What exactly does it affect?

The technology level of a province affects all levies from that province. In addition to that the tech level of someone's capital also affects their retinues.

I believe you get the notification if you have a strong claim to the duchy.

Hi

I'm quite new to CK2 but have played several games with and without ironman.
Everytime I play a custom game of a custom ruler, when I die/use the cheat code 'play other character' the game goes into the score 'end game' scene.
I have heirs who are of age yet this seems to happen.
Is this normal? Do I have to change the settings on somewhere?

I'd suggest to just not use the cheat right after you died and while the window with the information on it is on then.

It even brings me to the score scene even if I haven't died yet! I was just trying another character. It seems like the cheat 'play other char' is flawed as it wont allow you to do so and just ends the game. Is this normal for anyone who tried that cheat?

It's not flawed. It works fine. Apparently you make a mistake and enter the wrong char number and thus get the game over.

edit: More likely, you probably try to play a character for which you miss the required DLC.

I just tried the cheat twice and it still says game over! Does having DLC mess things up?

as my edit above says, not having a required DLC (for religion, government type) can mess things up for you.

You get a game over under two conditions:
1) You die and your titles are inherited by an heir of a different dynasty.
2) Your titles are inherited by an unplayable character.

For the "play" console command the first one doesn't apply, but the second one does. By default only Feudal or Tribal Christians are playable. Every other religion and government type requires you to have a specific DLC in order to make them playable.

For example if you don't have Sword of Islam DLC and try to play a Muslim character you would get a game over, but if you do have Sword of Islam DLC then you should be able to switch to a Muslim character without problems.

The following DLCs are required to unlock specific characters and make them playable:
1) Sword of Islam DLC unlocks Muslims.
2) The Republic DLC unlocks Merchant Republics.
3) The Old Gods DLC unlocks Pagans and Zoroastrians.
4) Sons of Abraham DLC unlocks Jewish characters.
5) Rajas of India DLC unlocks Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain characters.
6) Horse Lords adds Nomad government type to the game and allows you to play Nomads of any religion.

I've got a problem, after conquering most of England I find one of my Earls (also of a different relgiion and hates me) will be passing his county onto foreigners and will lose me the land. However as his liege is of my Duke's, I have zero power in revoking his title or doing anything about it. Little short of fabricating a claim and killing him for the land, how can I strip him of his title?

You can retract vassalage of the earl from the duke in order to make him your direct vassal. They won't appreciate it of course and neither will your other vassals, but it's a thing that can be done. You might have to fight the duke for it too.

How many foreign heirs are in line ot inherit? If there are few enough you can try to kill them. No foreign heirs emans the county won't leave your realm.

If you own England and the county is de jure part of England you will be able to start a war to reclaim it once it leaves your realm.

If you have the right laws (with Conclave DLC) or High Crown Authority (without Conclave DLC) you can prevent the title from being inherited by anyone outside your realm in the first place.
