Well, I am Visigothic. However, the question remains whether I can just give my kids double names and the regnal number will count just the first name.

To elaborate:
I am king Aurelio. I name my sons Aurelio Juan, Aurelio Pablo and Aurelio Ranimiro. Will they succeed me as Aurelio II Juan, Aurelio III Pablo and Aurelio IV Ranimiro or will they become Aurelio Juan I, Aurelio Pablo I and Aurelio Ranimiro I?

To my knowledge, it would most likely do the latter. You could always do a test game to confirm however.

About the message settings:

Can I make the game auto-pause on a new alert?
I made "We Won a Siege" pause the game when fired, but it doesn't. What gives?
What's the difference between "Vassal Transferred" and "A Vassal has been transferred"? Why are "Vassalization Accepted/Declined" in there twice?

Thanks.

@Kabrok No, it doesn't. You don't even have to start as Gotland. You just need to personally own the province at the moment when you create the empire of Scandinavia.

Query about defensive pacts. If i'm at 49% threat and declare several wars, when I peace out the first one and my threat goes back over 50% will they be able to call in the other religion to help via defensive pact, or does it only check in the days right after you declare war?

Also what color would you say Byzantium is? We have contention over this and i need it resolved.

I'm not sure because I've never had that exact situation, but I do know that if you attack someone before they've joined a pact, they can't join the pact during war. So my assumption would be that who gets pulled into war would be determined at the moment the war starts. However, like I've said I don't know for sure because I've never had that situation. You could always make a back-up save from before the war declaration. you can even do that with ironman games, but you'd need to keep the copy somewhere outside the saves folder.

Pact only activates the moment you declare war. I just spend 30 years waiting, only to declare 12 wars at the same moment. After like 4 of them finished I was at 100%, but the rest of the world didn't join the factions I was already attacking.

Is there a general consensus among the community as to which county is best to play for maximum Steam achievements? I seem to have a knack for choosing counties that are easy targets.

No, but with some planning you can certainly net quite a few in a single run since many achievements are based purely off being X culture or Y religion- Rajas of India makes that pretty easy. Generally though, you would probably want to be somewhere in the Eastern half of the map.

The most achievements that I ever got was in a Rome playthrough. I started as the Byzantine emperor in 867, conquered Europe, fought of the Aztecs and Mongols, then conquered the rest of the map save southern India. In the last decades before the end I converted to Jain and got a few of thse acheivements too.

All together I got the following achievements:
1) Persistent Survivor
2) Pentarch
3) Legacy of Rome
4) Prester John (while doing some religion swapping for free mass title revocation)
5) Protector of the Holy Places
6) United the Kingdoms
7) The Frisian Coast is Long
8) Medieval Schlieffen
9) And Stay Out
10) Beyond the Indus
11) Looking East and West
12) Saint Thomas' Dream
13) What Schism?
14) Red Sea Resort
15) The British Raj

Other achievements that I would've gotten, but I already had them from before:
1) The Marriage Game
2) Merchant Prince
3) Saint
4) Celebrity
5) Full House
6) Royal Blood
7) Dragon Blood
8) Divine Blood
9) Pilgrim

Achievements that I could've gotten that were only added to the game later:
1) pitable
2) No Solicitors
3) An Honest Mistake
4) Typhoid Marry
5) Aptly Named
6) Smash the Patriarchy

Further achievements that I could've potentially gotten if I needed them and played differently:
1) Exalted Among Men
2) Paragon of Virtue
3) Until Death Do Us Part
4) A Pope of my Own
5) Turbulent Priest
6) I can see it's Stripes
8) Russkaya Pravda
9) To Mecca!
10) Dwarf Fortress

That adds up to 40 achievements. If you start as Haestein of Nanntes, do a prepared invasion of Africa, swear Fealty to the Byzantine Empire and take it over from within you could also add Always Bet on Duke, It's Good to be King, It's Better to be Emperor, Never Start a Land War in Asia, Norse-East, and Viking Ummah. That brings the tally up to 46 and it doesn't even account for the achievements from the DLC I'm missing (WoL, Conclave, M&M). You could get up to somewhere in the 60s.

tl;dr: Start as Haesteinn of Nannetes in 867, use prepared invasion to take Africa, swear fealty to Byzantine Empire, take over the empire from within, conquer the world, switch religions & culture freely and you could get more than 60 achievements.

So long story short I've conquered all of Charlies realm as Sigurd Ring with the invasion CB, and I'm thinking about how to distribute the new lands - my dilemma is that almost all of it is in countries that is going to flip Norman, and I don't really want my family to turn Norman as well (Norse master race), so does anyone know what the odds are for that to happen if I give them some of the Frankish/Breton/Occitan lands?

Gavelkind only considers kids and only when all legitimize kids are dead it reverts back to primo, right? My Duke died and his Duke title and two of his five counties did go this his third son because the first one is dead and the second one is a Bishop. The other three Counties went do hist grandson, the son of his firstborn, but why? I had the impression that as long as ONE sons is available I am save from realm split.

Perhaps sons simply have priority before grandchildren, but grandchildren (specifically sons of sons) still count as possible heirs?

I have 2000 hours in this game and this sounds strangely new to me. Either this is new or I missed in the last three years. Can anybody confirm this please?
It was not the case in the past, unless there are some sort of other unusual caveats that caused it in this case. Still, gavelkind has been wonky (for even more than three years), so it's always possible it's a bug or some odd edge case...

I have randomly received event 66110.

"My kinsman, X, keeps asking me to press his claim on Y for the glory of our dynasty.

A - Go to war (Declare war on Duke of Y)
B - Refuse such ridiculous demands (X's opinion lowers, my prestige lowers)"

I currently have a non-aggression pact with the King liege of the Duke of Y.

Will picking option A break my non-aggression pact with the King and give me an opinion penalty?
Or will the non-aggression pact end without penalty?
Or will the war only be with the Duke and therefore not affect the non-aggression pact with the King?

Answer - I answered it myself. The war ends inconclusively as soon as you press the button A with no effect.
