Can you still have have him improve relations with himself by sending him to his own county? That used to work
You could try using your chancellor on him, though I vote you assassinate him for the "Turbulent Priest" achievement and appoint your younger brother as his replacement.

New to CK2 so I will probably have a few quick questions as I go along. First one which comes to mind, is it possible to "improve relations" with your own Bishop i.e. someone in your own Demesne? At the moment he likes the Pope more than me hence is paying no taxes and contributing no levy. How do I get him to like me more? He is on my council and has a minor title, but still he gives me zilch.

You can improve relations with your own people, just park your Chancellor in the target's area as you said.

A far quicker option is to take the Carousing focus and invite him to a personal feast - if he accepts then you get massive opinion boost and possibly even a new Friend.

As a King of Poland I am holding a Chiefdom of Greater Poland (with 3 counties) - screenshot 1.
After my character died his son received a Chiefdom of Greater Poland but with 4 counties (plus county of Beresty which is not even close to Greater Poland) - screenshot 2.
Why is that? Can someone can explain to me why Beresty became a part of this Chiefdom?

Well, what about the Mongols, have they happened?

Yes. Sadly, they were really insistent on conquering every last inch of Cumania, which meant fighting against moderately large coalitions for single counties. By the time they took on the Byzzies, their event troops had been drained to an extent that they lost the war.

Really ought to just turn defensive pacts off on my next playthrough. I'm not too big on conquering in the first place, so it wouldn't really even make things easier for me.

When there are multiple available heirs under gavelkind, the primary gets the main title and the capital county. They will get the rest of the capital duchy and the capital duchy title if there are enough titles of each rank so that all heirs will get titles of each rank. Beyond that, all other heirs get additional land before the primary heir so, in this case:

Primary heir: kingdom, duchy of lesser Poland, counties in Lesser Poland (kingdom, capital, capital duchy in toto)
Secondary heir: duchy of Greater Poland, all counties in Greater Poland (first choice of next tier plus associated counties) plus the first extra in each tier-Duchy of Mazovia and county of Beresty

If you had a third heir then it would have gotten the duchy of Mazovia and county of Beresty instead of the secondary heir getting them.

For the primary heir to get any demesne beyond the capital duchy provinces every heir has to get at least similar number of titles.

When you conquer a province of foreign religion and culture it takes a really, really long time for "new administration" goes away. Shouldn't that speed up once you converted it and you only need to deal with the different culture? Still the same unfortunately :(

Raiding doesn't seem to be working for me in that it doesn't give me any income. I will raise my troops, turn them to "looter", send them into a territory and watch the loot meter go down and down as my troops take more loot, but I don't see my gold reserves increase. Where is all this loot going and how can I get it? I thought maybe my troops had to return to my capital to "deposit" the gold but that didn't work, nor did disbanding the troops at my capital. What am I doing wrong?

It's not like it's getting lost in my normal income, by the way. I literally just started as a tribal chief (count-level, for reference) only making .7 gold a month. I should see my income shoot up as my troops loot a province with 16 lootable gold, but I'm not seeing anything.

If raiding by land, you can only do so if you have border (and the gold automatically goes to your treasury). Otherwise you'll get nothing at all, but still damage the loot bar (the same as any besieging army). If raiding by sea, send looters off the ships into an adjacent coastal county and the gold is automatically transferred to the ships. You then bring the ships back to one of your coastal counties and you'll be given a popup that grants you the gold and prestige.

On a side note, with sea raiding at least the optimal size speed-wise for a looting army is 500 men per county. The most money also lies in the Mediterranean, rather than say the British Isles or any of the predominantly tribal areas.

No, it's not supposed to speed up. You took the province and kicked out the previous owner and his administration. Now your people are slowly learning about the province and how to run it efficiently.

No that is pretty normal. I suggest actively fighting the OCD.

It is going to happen with vassal ambitions and inheritances, don't fight it. They will continuously deplete their forces and be unable to fire powerful factions against you. If you do fight it, they get an opinion malus AND are at full strength plotting.

Think of the pluses instead. If you have a particularly powerful vassal in Persia (and you will, it is the most powerful kingdom) you can give it land in say, Sicily and then draw all his troops from there instead of Persia itself.

You right click on the duke and one of the options is transfer. The top option should be counties in duchies he holds the title of.

You will get a bonus to opinion for this and the county will will be under him and most likely he will end up killing or revoking to get the title.

I reformed West Africans and transformed to a merchant republic. Now I cannot give pagan honorary title (VenElders, Masters etc.) - only the MR's. Is this WAD or a bug?
Because when I was playing as feudal reformed Slavic I kept my pagan titles.

Fairly normal if annoying. If you want to fix it you can sue your chancellor to fabricate claims on the duchies (you can also fabricate claims to the titles of your own vassals) and then when you have the claim you can revoke the duchy without making all the other vassals angry. To fabricate a claim on a duchy you need to put the chancellor in the cpital province of the duchy and he needs to have a good Diplomacy score. I think 15+ was required, but I might be wrong.
