It also depends on your goals, but as long as you have time there's always hope. You're Muslim, right? You're going to have to lay low for a while, but do revoke every non-city holding in your county to give yourself a bigger army. Also try to make alliances with powerful nearby rulers to give yourself an edge in any wars you fight. I can't give more specific advice without knowing more details about the current situation, but that should be a start.

I've been telling myself that I really need to lay off of resorting to naughty "alt tab => task manager => end process: ck2" shenanigans when something gets messed up, but that one would be a damn hard sell...

Anybody know what factors into the kind of "event" where a character will just up and lose a trait, no event-based choice involved? I am... NOT the law, No more charity! etc. Is it only governed by a MTTH pulse, or can the current WoL focus, taking certain actions and so on have the potential to influence it?

There's actually a trait limit if memory serves. Think it's something like over five personality traits you stop gaining new ones randomly, but over six you'll start losing your good traits like just or any of the virtues.

The game is nudging all characters towards having 5 personality traits. If you have less you get events where you have a chance to gain an extra one and if you have more you can randomly lose one of them. This has a chance to trigger once every 5 years and competes with all other yearly pulse events.

The only way to never get it is to avoid having more than 5 personality traits. Personality traits are things like vices and virtues as well as traits like Just, Shy, and Cruel.

It seems that your heir joining a holy order doesn't actually disinherit him, at least if the order in question is Sons of Kaleva. Wondering if this is a bug or if pagan holy orders are supposed to work this way? I'm playing without the three (I think) newest expansions, and slightly modded, but nothing that should affect this matter.

Can the AI actually handle the game rule De Jure Requirement? As best as I recall giving extra duchies to random people was the default and it doesn't seem to have changed.

In my game I managed to install imperial administration and pass the restricted vassals war law...If the councill faction will empower the council again , will this laws be pushed back?

Stupid question regarding the outcome of a claim war. I started as a Norse count in 769 start. It's been utter chaos from day 1 but the short story is: I was subjugated by Sviþjod so am currently a vassal to Ragnarr Lodbrok. Sjælland was subjugated by the Kingdom of Saxony. Ragnarr declared war to subjugate Saxony. Before Ragnarr won the war West Francia declared war using Karl's claim on Saxony. While that war was still ongoing Ragnarr won his subjugation war and became King of Saxony. Now he's at war with West Francia.

If West Francia wins, will they gain the entire Kingdom (with Jarl Ragnarr as a vassal) or will they just gain the de jure lands of Saxony and Ragnarr will remain independent as Jarl of Sviþjod?

Depends, does Ragnar have another King-level title?

If he does, then no danger of falling under the thumb of Karl. If he does not, then all of what is currently held by Saxony will be gained by West Francia.

Well, technically they don't get a penalty, they just lose the bonus. But the moral authority will be lower and that's what actually matters.

Btw , in my game the Catholics lost Jerusalem , Rome and a crusade as well , and the morale authority is still at 100..How?

When you examine the moral authority it should display a full list of contributing factors.

I've been looking for a list of all the cosmetic landmarks scattered around the map but haven't lucked out yet, can't remember whether they were added by a dlc or a patch (or whether they were just there the whole time). So far I've found Hadrian's wall I think, the Giza pyramids, Petra, some kind of fort in Gotland, an unknown building in Julich and some kind of temple I think in Kalindajar. Am I missing anything? Any other little easter eggs/neat things to look out for on the map?

Also for the sky burial event chain, are there any big incentives to build a tomb rather than feed the birds? Other than a lump of prestige and the opportunity to guarantee my ruler gets Cruel.

To answer your first question, those buildings were added in as part of the Conclave Content Pack DLC. The buildings are: the Pyramids of Giza, Petra, Hadrian’s Wall, Charlemagne’s Palace, Visby Ringmur, and the Agra Fort.
