As you can probably tell from the title, a Crusader Kings II preview has been made by yours truly. I mostly talk about the interface, singleplayer, multiplayer, tutorial, map and the options in the game, so nothing too detailed. You can click on the "YouTube" logo on the bottom right so you can actually go on YouTube, comment and watch in fullscreen. Enjoy!

Thanks for the heads-up, Prince. Just finished watching it and was actually about to notify the forums myself.

But, you stole my moment! How could you take the spotlight from me!? D= :p

Anyway, nice overview of the UI. Hope to see more! :D

Both Axum and Abyssinia? While it indeed hurts my eyes I'm intrigued. My theory is that it's supposed to somehow represent the chaotic situation in Ethiopia during this era. Perhaps one of them is supposed to be the descendants of Gudit, while the other is supposed to be Christians, the Zagwes and the Solomonids.

Still only one Nubia though. Where's my Makkuria/ Alodia split?

Pretty sweet quick preview, my only complain is that it was a bit too fast, I wasn't even able to read the tool tips because you moved the cursor way too fast. Just relax and take your time next time.

When it comes to the actual game, however, I'm slightly disappointed that the Bay of Bothnia and lands north of it are included. I can't think of any war where armies crossed from Sweden to Finland through the North in the times of CK2. I would also like to see more provinces especially in Northern Africa.

I spy with my little eye, something beginning with Awesome (..it was even shown at the 13:37 mark).

Looks like someone let their children be taught by an exiled Norseman. Go-go, Ásatrú Eranshahr! ;)

That confirms the Valknut as the symbol for the Norse religion rather than Mjolnir, then. Hadn't noticed that before.

I hope this isn't in the final game. It would be just way too ridiculous.

Indeed. Unless directly influenced by other characters randomly generated courtiers need to make some regional sense. So while the Christian area of Sweden obviously should generate plenty it should at least be judged by region (fully likely in Scandinavia, much reduced for general northern Europe, maybe a slight chance around the Varangians but then none for the Middle-East and further. Just as how Muslims ought not spawn in Scandinavia.).

Could you load up a game as Byzantium and tell us if they have anything special that the other countries don't? Out of curiosity, please and thank you.

And yet another nice preview! A little too shallow, but good as always. The map is, for me, better each time I look at it.

But I have to comment something I've seen in all the previews until now: for some reason, the Duchy of Burgundy has the Coat-of-Arms of Arles, while the Kingdom of Burgundy (which was represented by the Coat-of-Arms of Arles) has the real Duchy of Burgundy CoA. Shouldn't them be reversed? Either their tags where misplaced in the files, or... well, I can't find any reason at all to have Ducal Burgundy with the Arelat CoA, as they never claimed nor controlled Arles per se in CK's timespam.
Sorry for nitpicking, but Provence->Arles is my favourite objective in both CK and EU3, and I remember I had to mod in the Azure, Leopard Sentant Or with the "Civ. Arel." banner.

Sorry for nitpicking, but Provence->Arles is my favourite objective in both CK and EU3, and I remember I had to mod in the Azure, Leopard Sentant Or with the "Civ. Arel." banner.

I had to rewatch it and I too noticed that the duchy of Burgundy uses the CoA of Arles, although I haven't noticed the CoA of the kingdom of Burgundy. Furthermore is there any good alternative for the Arles CoA to represent the kingdom of Burgundy, since I like Burgundy too, but, truth be told, I'm not a fan of that CoA.

Regarding the map (like I said in the thread about the Bohemia preview), terrain is brilliant; province borders in France look finished, whereas in some parts of the HRE they still seem to use the borders used in the old ck1 map, so I hope that this isn't the final version.
